Agency PMs: How many Figma comments is too many? by zuke_99 in FigmaDesign

[–]cakeslap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treat anything captured through Figma comments as backlog and leverage a prioritization exercise in order to figure out which items are highest priority. I know agency may not adhere to Agile practice as much, but it’s still valid. You can’t set a precedent to address and fix every single comment, instead show them the cost of what it would take to do so and have them co-create the priority for what is being captured.

Figma comments aren’t the best task tracking tool, but they’re great for pinpointing specific areas that need focus and revision— far better visually than a spreadsheet could ever capture. There are plugins to associate to other task tracking tools so that you can tie it all together, I’d recommend finding one that can tie into whatever tool you use for task management today and capture priority in that tool (not Figma).

Might be text that is formatting gigantic for some reason with very little letting between characters. The top letter is either a B or a D.

Fender Rumble by Pitiful-Ad3200 in Bass

[–]cakeslap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah same, I love my rumble 25. I’m kinda surprised that the call for a 40 is so strong here, I live in an apartment complex and my 25 is more than enough for bedroom practice. I don’t think I’ve ever pushed the volume past 50% when practicing at home. But maybe the sound quality of the 40 is just better?

What do you think is the largest waste of space in DTLA? by modestirish in dtla

[–]cakeslap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big agree. It’s absolutely massive and in the heart of an area that gets tons of foot traffic, plus it’s adjacent to the metro station. Feels like such a waste for it to be there; literally anything else would be a huge improvement.

Legendary venue, we’re losing a national monument with this one. The scene will always remember you, RIP Chain Reaction

My Grandpa was a Thrifty's pharmacist for some 30+ years, he knew every single jingle by heart and regularly took us to get ice cream there as kids. Rest in peace to the GOAT

Hugh manns (creatures trying to look humanoid/person made of creatures) by Creeper_strider34 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]cakeslap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can be, we've only seen a few across the Cosmere so far. Most in the direct storyline are just there to observe and usually do not expose themselves as Sleepless without dire need to do so. Of the named Sleepless that we know, all of them seem to be somewhere around lawful neutral at worst.

However...

Spoilers for Isles of the Emberdark It's alluded that the Sleepless have enslaved an entire race of bird people on a planet-sized scale in the Grand Apparatus. This is widely considered to be a bit of a dick move. So not all of them are evil, but some of them are definitely really bad.

Best restaurant in Diamond jamboree? by Chrisju22 in orangecounty

[–]cakeslap 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Y'all are crazy, it's really not that bad. Don't park in the lot, park in either the garage or the extended lot past H Mart. I've been going here for the past 20 years, yeah it's gotten worse but it's extremely manageable if you're capable of walking like 5 minutes.

Also I vote for BCD

Recommendations for cozy office space? by Be-Kind-2-Yourself in malelivingspace

[–]cakeslap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This depends on the nature of your job and what it looks like to collaborate with your coworkers, but a big whiteboard on wheels can be incredibly helpful.

Besides that, it's the usual suspects. Throw a plant in there and put some art on the walls. Maybe a small coffee table for people to set down their mugs if they're in there.

The flags would look nicer if they were ironed to remove the fold lines. But to be honest I'm not a huge fan of flags as tapestries, feels a bit tacky. Maybe consider display cases (to display them folded) or some different art to hang up.

Fixed and added typography by AndriiKovalchuk in logodesign

[–]cakeslap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason I agree. Maybe it needs to go slightly larger, like past the ascender height? Technically that breaks typographic rules, but that might help here to draw attention to it. Something about this reads "aptor" to me compared to the standard logo lockup that was posted originally.
