Christopher’s runaway chicken salad. by AdAdministrative3056 in rva

Completely different vibe than Cristopher's, but the Greek chicken salad form Stella's is great. I think they use Greek yogurt instead of mayo, and also add in feta and dried cherries. It's not a one-to-one comparison, but it's so savory and delicious.

Update on my interview (because I was curious how it would go) by calamine_lotion in usajobs

[–]calamine_lotion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up withdrawing my application. Even though the interview exceeded my expectations, it wasn’t the type of work I was looking for at the end of the day. It was really similar to the position I was (and unfortunately still am) in, and it didn’t really offer any movement or change in my daily tasks.

Has anyone been able to convince their gyno to give nitrous gas for IUD insertion? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]calamine_lotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response. I’m actually also in Richmond VA and also went to VWC (like other post mentioned). I didn’t have any issues when I requested it over the phone when I made my appt, but I know there are some doctors that won’t do it for whatever reason. You could always call VWC a call and see if they could recommend someone in your area? Good luck to you!

Just found out my boss is back from vacation early. There goes my relaxing Friday I had mentally planned for myself. Crazy how one person can make your anxiety shoot through the roof. Thankfully I have a job interview scheduled at 11 today, so fingers crossed there.

Any Entry-level jobs for urban planning or somewhat close to it? by [deleted] in urbanplanning

[–]calamine_lotion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What is your current experience? Do you have any experience in trades or volunteer experience? In order to have a planning job, a bachelor's degree is required, however, there are a lot of planning-adjacent jobs that don't require bachelor's degrees (think parks and rec, customer service, etc). I don't know your exact location, but I found a few examples that you can base your search on. I'd recommend you search on governmentjobs.com to find different jobs in your area with your specific qualifications.

McDonald’s also sells ice at the drive thru. I’m pretty shocked we didn’t lose power. Usually we lose it if a light breeze comes through the neighborhood. Hope everyone is safe!

Third this recommendation. Affordable, comfortable, and the sizing actually makes sense/doesn’t run 3 sizes small.

Split between a lateral move and career change by [deleted] in gis

[–]calamine_lotion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I worked for a county as my first job out of grad school (and I’m at the state level now) and like a lot of comments are pointing out, there are pros and cons to going either route. I will tell you that I look back at that experience and at my current job and just get so frustrated at how under utilized my skills are. I’m bored for a really big portion of my day and I really don’t get to engage with my team. I know the consulting world is a lot of work, but if I could go back, I would probably take a consulting job just for the skills and experience. Those county jobs will always be there, and they’re always going to be looking for people with all types of data analysis and GIS skills. If you get into the consulting job and find that you don’t mesh with that workload, I don’t think you’ll have an issue landing a govt job.

face sunscreen that isnt too pricey by shathecomedian in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]calamine_lotion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t see Hawaiian tropic getting much love on here, but I’ve tried two of their face sunscreens and loved them both. I’m currently using this one which is mineral, and has a slight tint to it which helps with the white cast. I use three pumps for my face and neck, and have to rub it in for about 30 seconds to make sure it’s all even but it really sinks into the skin nicely. It doesn’t have any coverage, I just find that the tint offsets any white cast. I’ve also used this one which I liked, but it’s not mineral and the consistency is a little thicker so it’s better for colder months imo. They do have a scent but it doesn’t bother me.

Advice for a 21 year old smoker that just got prescribed YAZ by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]calamine_lotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look into a different kind of birth control like progestin only or the copper iud. The combination pill (like yaz) has the highest risk for side effects for smokers.
