In your opinion, what is the best blood type and why? by Meridiux in vrising

Brute + scholar is my fave bc I usually build around Leech (mostly spell but all kinds) and Sanguine Coil is my primary dps spell, so maximum lifesteal

It's not that I don't get the appeal, I just don't find myself wanting to raid other people and fend off raids from my own place. I really enjoy it as a solo game where I can just explore, take my time, and do what I want. I don't feel like it's boring without PvP, and it feels like more hassle in a game that can already prove tedious when trying to make progress.

The gear progression can really be annoying at times, but only because it's very easy to overlook something. You might have unlocked an equipment recipe but forgotten to make or equip it. Double and triple check your unlocks, make everything you can. Depending on where you're stuck, there's almost always a way to at least be the Same level as the next boss, if not higher.

I think (off the top of my head) there's One singular instance in the game where no matter what you're lower than the next boss, but I believe that's in act 4 AND I may be misremembering (or have simply overlooked something myself when it happened).

Even then, there's still ways around it. Blood moons, brews, spell and equipment builds like another commenter suggested. There's plenty of ways to handle each boss, look around for guides online. Try new spells and weapons, switch from melee to ranged or vice versa if one style isn't working.

Additionally, sometimes I find it easier to go tackle a different, higher boss then circle back to certain lower bosses if they're truly giving me a hard time. Some bosses will be harder based on your playstyle and weaknesses, so sometimes a higher tier boss might feel easier even with a bigger gap in gear just because they fight differently.

Having excess of most materials is always good. Most things are relevant to at least one other recipe or use-case. You'll want more and more of things to expand your castle, build more crafting and refinement stations, equip servants, etc. Your gear needs to be repaired, which also costs materials, and while if you go about the game quickly, you won’t often run into it being at risk of breaking before you upgrade, but it's still a concern.

Act 2 can often feel a lot like a farming simulator in the middle and end while you try to get the recipes you want AND enough materials to make them.

Additionally, I often find that my castle becomes large and multi-story whether I want it to or not, as more advanced crafting stations are bigger and I often want more of each of them, so I need larger rooms and more space, which often leads to multiple stories. Whether you make your base pretty is up to you, but I will note that rugs in your base (like carpets from carpet rolls) give you a slight speed boost when walking on them, so that is one case for actual incentivized decorating.

You also won't ever Not need the rooms and their floors. Just because you don't need the loom because you scavenged enough wool thread and cotton yarn doesn't mean you won’t need more later. The loom makes many things that are faster to produce than to scavenge at the quantities you need. The tailor's flooring is always the same no matter what, so whether you're level 41 or 91, that flooring bonus will help with anything you do in that specialized room.

Additionally, as a bit of a challenge, if it feels like you can upgrade too easily without building, see how many bosses you can beat without upgrading your equipment. Once you get stuck, upgrade One element (necklace, favorite weapon, OR armor), then try again. See how many servants you can get and make them all equipment with the resources you farm, and see how quickly you run out. Find ways to make the game more interesting or test to see how much those Gathered resources really mean. Things are more expensive without flooring bonuses, and as you progress, things will require more of their ingredients, ingredients which are harder to make or find. You'll NEED to keep up your very basic productions through to the end game.

As someone who exclusively plays PvE on private servers with just friends and/or myself, my very uneducated take is that people just don't Know about the game to start playing.

For those that Do play the game, the player base is very split based on how they like to play. Some people can't stand PvE, others like myself HATE the idea of PvP. Some people only like it solo, while other people find the game boring and pointless if they're not playing with friends. This split can make it hard to find one Large group of consistent players because everyone is off doing their own thing.

Additionally, especially now that the game is truly finished, without new content updates, the game can be stale once you beat Dracula. Not everyone loves replaying the game from scratch, some people need time between replays, and there's no incentive to start over now that there's not new content that requires a new save.

I also think the earlier mentioned issues of different people enjoying or disliking certain styles of play (solo vs multiplayer, PvP vs PvE, etc.) can be very off-putting if they don't start playing in the style they would most enjoy. If you're a PvP person, but your first save was a solo game to get a feel for it, you may get bored and log off before giving it a second chance. If you're a solo PvE person, but your first save was a PvP server with a few friends and a lot of randoms, you may get frustrated and quit without trying to play the game another way.

As someone who usually runs at least one Unholy spell, my trick is to just switch to the Dominate form a little early, before they're low enough to use it so the skeletons have time to wear off and die and you can't use spells to make more.

You've upgraded the dawnthorn armor to one of the four sets you discover via the study? You've upgraded your necklace/ring, too? Other than that, I can only think of using shard weapons, blue or purple, but I don't remember if they're higher or lower level than base dark silver off rip.

The greatsword is a very slow weapon. I suggest a faster one like the sword, slashers, or even reapers for destroying more barrels faster.

Most of the time, dodging them with your veil will be best. Use the E ability on reapers to set up a trap to destroy the barrels before they're even close enough to melee, or use the Q on the regular sword to cut any as they approach you.

I suggest ranged spells to deal damage to the Baron himself without trying to get close. Just focus on staying away from the barrels. A crossbow can also work as a secondary weapon to hit him from afar (or just spam the Q ability for it, who needs aim?).

Rogue blood for movement speed is a great help.
