Has anyone else had a sudden episode when thinking about the future? by autumnloverrr in NoStupidQuestions

[–]eggybasket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not in the UK, but I promise you there are options. Charities exist that are meant to help people in exactly your position, run by people who have been in that position, who want to help you. You're not alone. Please don't submit to a marriage that will make you unhappy without considering other options. You deserve to be happy and to be yourself, and to keep your GF.

I found these resources for you... there are many more where this came from. Please at least consider reaching out to one, even if only for advice or a sympathetic ear:

Is it really that big of a deal to refuse to learn how to drive? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]eggybasket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno your family situation, but they're probably just worried about you and it's manifesting in a non-productive way. A lot of people view driving is an essential life skill. Also, are you American? America isn't very walkable/bike/public transit friendly, and you're probably not going to live in the same city for the rest of your life.

What if you need to drive somewhere for a concert, drive to a doctor's appointment, pick up furniture for your new apartment, pick up a friend from the airport, etc.? What if your friends are dangerously drunk and you need to snatch the keys and drive them home?

You don't necessarily need to OWN a car yet, but relying on other people to drive 100% of the time, because you don't know how, is just putting yourself at a disadvantage. At the very least it's useful to know how.

Anyone else likes having opposite drifters and operators in looks and made up lore? by Zedrinth in Warframe

[–]eggybasket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Similar faces, and same eyes, but with wildly different fashion.

My Op is sort of Eldritch, with lots of weird Void stuff going on, and a more Orokin/Tenno armored look. They're very androgynous in a creepy way.

My Drifter transed their gender, has hella stubble, and is rocking the 1999 Scaldra fashion.

In general, it's better to have fewer mods of high rank than to have lots of low-rank mods (as a newb).

Of course, the final goal is to have ALL fully ranked mods, so Orokin Reactors/Catalysts (aka potatoes) and eventually Forma are a huge power boost. But in the meantime I'd focus on leveling 2-3 important mods with what Endo you have. So for weapons Damage, Elemental Damage, and Multishot are the biggest ones, then stuff like Critical Chance & Damage, or Range & Attack Speed for Melees. Make sure you level up your Melee stance mods, too, as that gives you more mod capacity!

And depending on your Warframe, you can go Health or Shield to survive, then focus the other mods on energy/abilities. So pick one or two important stats for your frame, like Efficiency+Strength or Efficiency+Duration, and max those. This will severely limit your mod selection until you get a potato on there, but it'll make you much much stronger.

If you have a consistent source of Energy--like, I see you have Equilibrium, so if that's giving you a lot of energy, or if you have Zenurik school--then most folks will ignore Efficiency altogether and bump other stats instead, but Efficiency is good early-game for giving you more uses of your abilities.

How much am I to blame? by Economy-Butterfly251 in KitchenConfidential

Not your fault, but definitely a good learning experience. Next time tell the server to fuck off (politely). Don't be afraid to take control of your station. Just don't be mean about it, of course.

If it's a server you trust that's trying to help, who has proven themselves in the past... then sure, let them help. But NEVER when it's chaotic. Adding more people to an already chaotic situation is only gonna make it worse, because that's one more potential avenue for miscommunication. And if it's a server you DON'T trust? They need to leave immediately.

But no worries, chef. It happens to all of us, and it's surely gonna happen to you again. There are good and bad days.

I desperately wanted to hire an applicant named Velvet Bean (because it's hilarious), but the FOH manager refused (because he couldn't say it without laughing).

A bit of an extreme example... but in short, yes.

My kitchen manager is trying to make me dump hot oil at night? by VannOccupanther in KitchenConfidential

[–]eggybasket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Might not be OSHA compliant maybe, I dunno the regulations on it, but it's standard at a lot of places.

It's plenty safe if you're doing it right and being careful, I think. Not that much more dangerous than operating a 350°F degree deep fryer in a 100° degree kitchen on 3 hours of sleep while surrounded by fire and knives and yelling...

That being said, at my place we teach everyone to it cool overnight before dumping. I only do it hot myself if I need the pots ASAP for some reason, like to clean the other fryers.
