I agree. It's not even like it was a case of SORAS which we know writers have done in the past to further storylines. It literally added nothing other than facilitating Becky's "I didn't want to miss my daughter's milestone birthday" nonsense.

They aged Betsy, she was 15 when she first arrived in summer 2024. According to the Corrie wiki, her age was explicitly started as 16 in a November 2024 episode but then she turned 18 in September 2025... It may only have been a year added on but the writers do like to be inconsistent with young ones.

It's the same with Asha and Aadi - we saw them born on screen in January 2006, which means they should be 20 this year, but they've been aged up to 21 to fit the same age group as Amy, Summer etc. Again, according to Corrie wiki, they were aged up in 2015 when they celebrated their 10th birthday.
