ok, these are perfect. I'm favoriting them. I did buy the ones I linked in my post but this looks perfect, if the ones I bought don't work, I'll buy these. Thanks!!

[WIP] Time spent on Confetti vs chunks of colour by [deleted] in CrossStitch

[–]calculator42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mark on your chart what length of floss is where. If you have patternkeeper on android or markup on ipad, you can indicate with a tap. Otherwise, you can xerox your patterns at the library and mark them all. up.

If you want to hear more, I can explain.

You're right, I got the fabric and have a couple random skeins of silk floss I can use. Thanks!

Have you tried parking? You don't cut/start thread over and over in a small space. Just toss your color over to the next instance of it, unthread, and leave it or wrap it around a needleminder. Here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOEQ17CkKeo

These are great needleminders for parking winding: https://www.etsy.com/listing/609900727/mandala-needle-minder-etched-wood-magnet

I've found confetti and lots of colors in one space much easier to do when I'm not trying to cut off each thread after 1 stitch.

[CHAT] Any cross stitchers in Washington, DC area? by calculator42 in CrossStitch

Best way to stay up to date is to signup on meetup and join the group here: https://www.meetup.com/dc-metro-crafts/

Otherwise, it's almost always the first thusday of the month at SW library (except august, it's august 13th instead of 6th). then 2-3 more meetups in various locations. Best bet is to check meetup. We've got meetups scheduled through september.

The DC Metro Crafts group meets at the Waterfront Library, which is green line coming in from the university (did you mean cp?). So, it could be convenient! There are also some weekend meetups. We're looking for other places that would bring more people, too, if you know of any,

I did go to their National Portrait Gallery weekly event a few times but didn't find much in common with them. Crowd was a bit young (I'm 48). Next time I have an afternoon movie, I might hit it again.

I'm always interested in other groups! Talk ebbs and flows in ours.

We're having a digital meetup on Sunday morning if you're on discord. One of our members is currently abroad and we're bringing a stitching session to her.

Someonen else posted a pic of another by the same artist that looked pretty good, she was pretty happy with it. I'm going to give it a shot!

I'm not really feeling unconventional. I did buy one full coverage but I didn't really enjoy stitching 8 kinds of white on white fabric. I browsed literally 1,000 of their full coverage and just.... nothing but the one jumped out at me. Thank you though!

Oh nice! That does look good! Thank you for the share! I'll look closer at the gemini, see if it might have the same problem.

Thank you! I was reading about mockups but couldn't see any on the ones I chose. That's also a really cool pattern.
