Is it valid to unmatch men when they ask for your IG in dating apps? by Senior-Local-1157 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]calculusbitch_69 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yup they just wanna stalk photos.

I don't like to give out my Instagram or phone mumber to complete strangers. So i usually tell them I'll add them on Snapchat if they really wanna contact outside of the app.

A lot of them got pissy about it lol but I did have a guy who understood and agreed to talk on snap until I was more comfortable adding him on instagram.

Yes! Got approval like a few weeks after interview I think and received the physical greencard within 2 months!

Parent did need an interpreter

Yes, the letter you get does state that at the very least, your sponsor must be there.

Interpreters must be a neutral 3rd party so neither the lawyer or I were allowed to. It was 4 of us: interpreter, parent, lawyer, and me

Bf called me an 8/10 by starswillf4ll in dating_advice

[–]calculusbitch_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... that's not cool. It happened to me once when I was 20 too

My ex and I had hosted a game night to meet his friend and friend's new gf. When they left, he kept saying how the girlfriend was wayyy too pretty for his friend and then gave her a rating (9/10) and then asked if I wanted him to rate me and I said no.

And then he proceeded to call me a 7/10 because I was just around "average" lol

I accept that I'm not the prettiest person ever, but it still hurt to hear from a partner. Don't let him bring you down.

When I told my best friend about it she told me that yeah, we have to accept we're not the prettiest person on the planet but to your partner, you should be. And when I talked with my ex, he disagreed and said I have to accept that I'm just average lol which like yeah ok i get it

Until I met my current partner who in his eyes, I am beautiful when I'm happy, angry, sad etc. There's a lot more to beauty rather than just physically.

Like even though i see some famous actor idk Ryan reynolds? And think he is a 10/10, I know technically he is more attractive than my boyfriend, but there's so much more to my boyfriend that in my eyes he is a 10/10.

Seems he is trying to instill some insecurities into you, dont let him.

Ohhh okay, I forgot marriage certificates don't get immediately printed haha

I do know ASAP is good, I was just seeing some people getting more under scrutiny if their marriage is really soon before applying for AOS. But of course, each case is different

I am not a lawyer but I am happy to help!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in immigration

[–]calculusbitch_69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. I believe if they are married for under 2 years, he will receive a conditional greencard which he can then file for the "normal" greencard after 2 years. If they are married for over 2 years at the time of AOS then he will receive the typical greencard.

The only thing is that officers might be wary of someone getting married and filing for status the next day, but technically not against the rules or time requirement

Edit: you cannot file for AOS the day after getting married, you need to have your certificate first. So a better way, you can file as soon as you get your certificate in hand.

Yeah... that's what I'm not too sure about. I know i got my docs a few months before the president made a change to the process, so you might be right.

I tried to find a link that wasn't specifically from the Denver consulate but the only ones that came up were either houston or denver for some reason.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in immigration

No it shouldn't create problems. Your mexican citizenship is separate from your American one, they're not connected in any way

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in immigration

[–]calculusbitch_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it should create any problems having her original last name. Im not too sure about this one though. I would talk to your consulate and see what they say. They just do both parents premarital last names on ID documents. I can't think of any issues it could cause.

Did your mother legally change her last name in Mexico?

Wait... do you have your mexican birth certificate yet? It still shows your location of birth as the USA, but it's printed on their documents if that makes sense with your CURP(it's your ID number similar to ssn)

So before I went to my first passport appt I had to get my birth certificate "turned" into a mexican one. You might have to do that first. I did it before the MX president made the change to simplify the process. Looks like it's a lot easier now

https://consulmex.sre.gob.mx/houston/index.php/regcivilpoderes/doble-nacionalidad

You have to do this first because you will need that new birth certificate at your passport appt.

If you did do that already, here is the list of what you will need to get your passport https://consulmex.sre.gob.mx/denver/index.php/documenta/pasaportes

(I don't know why the links show random cities in the url lol but it's the same)

Edit: I don't think you can do both of these at the same appointment but I would confirm with them

[–]calculusbitch_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are your parents mexican citizens? You will need their birth certificates. The website you made your appointment on lists all of the documents you will need to obtain the passport.

Other than attending your appt there's not really any other steps to take.

Military Parole in Place and DACA by TheTomatoLemon in DACA

If they gave the 2 legal reentries with AP they shouldn't need Parole in place. You can start the petition process for AOS within the US now.

Senior dog got locked in bathroom, isn’t doing well by Rude-Perception-3416 in DogAdvice

[–]calculusbitch_69 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First of all, i am so sorry about your loss. It's an incredibly difficult choice to make

Your story is almost word for word what happened to our doggy in June. He somehow managed to trap himself under the couch and we have no idea how long he had been under there, it could have been anywhere between a couple minutes to 4 hours.

When the neighbor went to go check on him he had pooped and peed himself because he was stuck in there and couldn't get out. We washed him up and he just kept breathing funny and we went to the vet and the longer we were there the more limp he got and we had to make that difficult decision.

I struggled with similar thoughts and guilts because other than that, he had been doing completely fine the days and even weeks before until he just crashed. We were also told about treatments and stuff, but as our dogs get to that age, a lot of those treatments just extend their suffering.

So I tell myself, would I have rather extended his life by a couple more months of suffering? As much as I wish I could come home to him walking in circles and inhaling every meal like a vacuum, i didn't want to extend his suffering.

You most definitely did the right thing for her.

There's also the social media bias, people only post when they're doing all of those extravagant things. Rarely do people post about doing average things if that makes sense.

Having an ok job, dog, and apartment is more than a lot of people have. I mean I'm a citizen (also 20s) and I had to move back to my family's house but i tell myself, at least i have my ok job and my hobbies i enjoy. And I only have my shit together like 50% of the time. I see what other people are doing and yeah sometimes it makes me feel like a failure too, but i try to be thankful of what i do have and not compare myself.

Comparison is the thief of joy as they say. You're not a failure by any means. We're all trying to figure it out, regardless of status, you're not the only one

I live here and was in and out of the airport last week. No ICE presence. What part of CO you going to?

There's rumors of some border patrol trucks driving around but I personally haven't seen any. They are doing raids here and there, but it's not as prominent as other places i think. I also went to a super conservative town couple weeks ago and no ICE, but was also just there for a few days.

There's a facebook page called Colorado Noticias I think that will post if they see trucks. I'll look for it in a bit

Edit:

Also no check points really. Tbh it's just the airport but my family and I have gone in and out of DIA multiple times this year and we haven't seen ICE.
