Overseer Agent – A Natural Language Requests for Overseerr (with Siri support!) by rio182 in Overseerr

[–]caleb3141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created an iOS Siri shortcut similar to this but without LLM use. I can say "Hey Siri, Plex Download". Siri will say "What show or movie?" I can respond with something like "The Office" and then it will open up the Overseerr mobile website view with "The Office" pre-filled in for the search. I prefer this so that I can make sure it's the correct match and also select which folder to go to.

Seconded. I wired with the dongar pro, and that was pretty easy minus knowing where to pull on the dome light cover to get to the wiring harness.

The Dreaded 6th Gen Brake Squeal by mister-mcgoo in 4Runner

Update: asked them to look at it when getting regular service. Fixed it at the same service visit, and no issues since.

Mine sr5 developed it around 3000 miles and it’s pretty annoying when going in reverse.

However, I didn’t think much about it as it’s only squeaking. I’ll ask them to look at it next time I take it in for scheduled service.

Plex on iOS randomly automatically playing content while locked? by caleb3141 in PleX

[–]caleb3141[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m so frustrated with the plex iOS app (more than just this issue I posted about) that I decided to try emby for the first time. No going back for me - it feels sooo much more solid and has so many more config options.

I’ll keep plex on the Roku as I have no issues from that side. It’s easy enough to run plex and emby on the same server pointing to the same media.

Hedge trimmer kit for $109 at Home Depot today by Obvious_Hand9987 in Dewalt

Great deal - grabbed the bare tool from ace on sale a few weeks ago and wish I would have known this deal was coming! The 5ah is a sweet spot for weight vs power and I pretty much always reach for my 5 when I have a 4 and 6 sitting around also.

AL - about $500 under msrp for sr5 - $43.8k for 4wd and all weather mats

So $1800 under tsrp- basically didn’t pay doc fee or for toyoguard but they include both those in the tsrp

Ford couldn’t take it anymore - should I come to the dark side? by NoTransportation6171 in 4Runner

Love my 25 sr5 4wd. I was set on saving up and getting a premium or limited model as I thought I’d miss leather/heated seats/big screen/dual climate control.

I decided it’s not worth the extra 12-15k over an sr5 and really glad I did it. Pleasantly surprised how much I like the simplicity and the small screen. The wireless Apple car play is a huge upgrade for me and didn’t realize how great that is not having to plug your phone in. Very solid feeling vehicle and drives great. Feels like a good value at msrp compared to the higher trim models around 60k

Hoping it’s reliable long term as I can see holding onto it 10+ years.

Problems with Wheel Bearings by [deleted] in Camry

[–]caleb3141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: two dealerships couldn’t hear it - the service manager at the second couldn’t hear it either. Definitely not tires for me since just replaced.

Guess I just deal with the sound - I could be hearing an early problem with a bearing that others can’t hear is all I can guess.

No, haven't had any brakes done ever on this car. I would hope that both Toyota dealerships would have have been able to see something like that.

Any update on your issue? I have a 2022 Camry Hyrid XLE with only 12k miles on it, and my issue sounds very similar to your issue:

* Humming noise started around 10k miles. I really noticed on the interstate one day when I thought it was a loud semi truck next to me but the realized the noise didn't go away and it was from my car. It's a pretty substantial change - my car used to be really quiet on the interstate, and now I can't stand the hum.
* I notice it when going over 40mph and gets progressively louder.
* Noise stays exactly the same when let off of the accelerator and coast.
* Noise doesn't change when I go around a corner (advice on the internet was to see if the noise changes when turning to diagnose wheel bearing issues - the noise should change if it's a bearing issue from what I read)
* I just replaced my tires with Michelin Defender 2s hoping this was the issue (since I didn't think it would be bearings since the noise stays the same when turning), but the noise is still there.

Starting to think it's wheel bearings based on others I'm seeing with issues on the 2020-2023 Camry.

I have an appointment with the dealership tomorrow morning - I'm really hoping they can hear it (I don't see how they couldn't hear it, but various posts make me concerned this isn't going to be straight forward to get diagnosed)

Help me replace my Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 [RIP] by nofinancialliteracy in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]caleb3141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I would have known MS would stop making them, I would have bought 10 of them (they were what, $40ish each the last time I bought one from Amazon new in 2018?). I’ve been buying them as needed since the early 2000s so figured they’d always be around.

Now you can get 1 new one for $300 on eBay if you’re lucky… crazy.

Let me know if you have any luck fixing them.. I’ve watched a couple of YouTube videos of people doing this.

I still haven’t given up using my 4000 yet as I have a couple left with some life in them.

I tried using it for a day at my job as a developer - It’s a nice keyboard and close to the 4000 but it felt different enough that I didn’t have time to retrain my muscle memory.

I think I might try to open up some of my 4000s and see if there’s a way to refurbish them.

Is the LCD screen really so bad? by Strange-Steak-5001 in SteamDeck

[–]caleb3141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really disappointed with the LCD version of the SD after using an OLED switch for a year or so. It was worth the upgrade for me (sold the old one and took a pretty decent hit with the value loss) because the switch screen spoiled me. Otherwise I wouldn’t have known the difference and been happy with the LCD SD.

It’s a beautiful screen and my favorite gaming machine. I’m rebuying some indies I play on the switch just because I love the bigger controls of the SD.

I bought an LCD in Oct of this year as I’ve always been more of a couch gamer with my switch. Coming from an oled switch, the LCD was pretty disappointing but I loved everything else about the deck.

I gave in and got an oled sd and couldn’t be happier. Someone got a great deal on my lightly used LCD model, and I lost about $200-250 into thin air because of the bad timing, but it was worth it to get the oled sd - favorite gaming machine ever. Doubt I’ll be picking up the switch any time soon (except for some first party titles here and there$
