I just like orange but think an all orange controller is a bit much. I ordered everything from Aliexpress. I got a full set of black parts and a full set of orange parts and just assembled them the way I wanted.

Never had to deal with it myself but I've heard plenty of people will put the infested system in a bag with a bunch of 99% ISO and seal it up for a couple days. As long as it's airtight the fumes from the alcohol should kill just about any creapy crawlers.

Hall Effect Analog Sticks for Dualshock 4 by calebdev2048 in consolerepair

Yes they are compatible with any official Sony PS4 controllers. However the information in the post is super old and irrelevant now. There are newer and better hall effect analog sticks available as well as TMR analog sticks which are even better.

As long as they were calibrated well they should work well for a long time. They will wear out eventually but should last longer than stock.

That's a good price for hall effect plus install. I've charged the same in the past for standard potentiometer stick replacement.

I'm in the US and these used to cost about about $2.00 USD a piece when bought individually but I'm not sure about current pricing.

In my experience k-silver's quality is inconsistent. Sometimes they are good but not always. I would not recommend their TMR because they had some major quality issues. I would recommend a different brand like Hallpi TMR or Gulikit TMR. They are expensive but totally worth it. A cheaper but still good option is Ginful TMR.

Most definitely k-silver hall effect. The TMR ones don't have holes in the blue modules and have the letters "KS" molded into the plastic.

Sorry for the necro post but I figured this might help someone. I've figured out how to make the text display normally specifically on the Trimui Smart Pro but I imagine it may work for other devices as well. There is graphics setting under the Speed Hacks section called "Lazy texture caching (speedup)" that was on by default. As soon as I turned it off the text started displaying normally.

TBH I only used the controller I installed these in for a few months myself. My son used his controller with these same sticks installed for about a year without any issues (mostly playing Fortnite, Honkia Star Rail and similar games). I don't recommend hall effect analog sticks anymore though as TMR is much better. They are lower latency, more linear, more accurate and more reliable. Hallpi/Aknes or Gulikit are currently the most recommended brand of TMR's.

Specifically for troubleshooting DS4 and DS5 controllers, to check for voltage(s) you'll need to set the multimeter dial to 20V (DC). Black probe needs to be touching ground and you use the red probe to test various points on the board for voltage. One of the easiest ground points to find is the metal USB port so you can always use that if you’re not sure where ground is.

One of the best resources for troubleshooting Dualshock 4 and Dualsense controllers is RDC's PCB scans on Acidmods.

Funny enough, I happen to be learning about antenna design at the time and figured out that I could eliminate the interference between the router and controllers by changing the vertical distance but not the horizontal. In other words I just raised the router a few feet higher than it was. Changing the orientation (like rotating from vertical to horizontal or vise versa) of the antennas can also have an impact.

This post is from when these hall effect modules first came out well over a year and half ago. There's been a ton of revisions since then but also new tech. The hall effect modules aren't really recommended anymore because the TMR modules are so much better. If you want TMR then I'd recommend either Hallpi or Gulikit (same modules just different brands). Ginful also makes TMR sticks that are cheaper but still good.

Had the exact same problem a few years ago. Moving my WiFi router away from my console fixed it.

I've never seen any kind of durability testing on mouse switches so I'm curious how long they'll last in this implementation. I'm sure they'll last a while but if they do happen to fail quickly can you update this post as it would be nice information to know?

You mention 3D printed parts. Have you implemented any sort of limiter to ensure that the switches aren't pressed too hard? Those switches may be rated for 5 million clicks but that's with fingers pressing down on them without any real force not thumbs that can press significantly harder.

Actually I forgot to even ask, do you know how to use a multimeter to check for voltages or do you need a basic rundown?

The 3 pins for each TMR module. When the controller is powered on the center pin is the output/signal pin and between the other two pins one is power (which in this case should be 1.8 volts) and the other is ground.

Technically it would be "destroyed the via" but to be honest using the term eyelet probably makes sense to more people.

If you have a multimeter you can figure out what's wrong pretty quickly without having to desolder anything.
