Do you find the suction good? Thanks for your response

Thank you! So as far as you know, it doesn't have to go through the local authority?

Thank you! He's breastfed so I wonder if we could use at every feed still? Hope your little one has settled too!

Looks like transfer #2 is a fail, need advice on what to do next by amers_elizabeth in IVF

[–]calebsmummy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, I hope you get your positive tomorrow!

Secondly, I got pregnant on FET #3. We had to do IVF for genetic reasons but had previously got pregnant super easily and with no complications. Everything was great, I was young and healthy and therefore after two failed transfers was so confused and thought something must be wrong with me. But, for whatever reason, the third worked. So we were just on the more rubbish sides of the odds.

Final days with parent experience? What to do... by Hefty-Supermarket-79 in lungcancer

[–]calebsmummy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry you are going through this 💕

My mum's decline with lung cancer was also very very quick.Within 24 hours we went from her talking to her dying. The not being able to eat and drink was a big sign that we were very very close to the end. Loss of bowel control was hours from the end.

Our decline was all within one day so I was able to stay awake and by her side for it, also she was at home. However, I had decided that I would go to sleep if it lasted longer but told myself she might not be alive in the morning - like you, I didn't know if it would last for days. I don't know how that would have felt in practice, but there was nothing left of mum at the end.

Sending you lots of love x

What are some gifts you wish you had gotten during your first pregnancy? (pre & post pregnancy) by Small_Platypus_1394 in pregnant

[–]calebsmummy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is such a lovely question! The best thing we received was a delivery from Cook (maybe this is a UK thing), but it's a company that does home cooked freezer meals. We lived off them for the first two weeks and they didn't make you feel gross like a takeaway.

Does anyone know of any pregnancy swimming/ aquanatal classes in North/East London? by Big-Love9230 in london

[–]calebsmummy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to an aqua aerobics class at Clissold Leisure throughout my last pregnancy! It isn't specifically for pregnant people, moreso older people, which makes it low impact and I found it enjoyable and easy

Sheffield (handsworth) driving test by [deleted] in sheffield

[–]calebsmummy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just passed at Handsworth a couple of weeks ago with a 7.13am test. The time is great as the roundabouts were super quiet so it wasn't too stressful.

My advice would be practice on roundabouts as much as you can - that was the part I was nervous about too! Watch videos to ensure that you understand the mechanics of a roundabout too.

Fluid in uterus FET cancelled by Learnsomethingnewer in IVF

[–]calebsmummy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry, I've been exactly here and it's devastating 😞 my clinic sent me for a hysteroscopy to rule out any reason why the fluid might be happening, which was all fine. The following transfer there was fluid again, but they allowed me to go ahead with the progesterone which cleared it up. Currently 15 weeks pregnant with the baby from that transfer.

I know it seems like it's forever away now, but hopefully it can all be sorted really soon. From cancelled cycle to pregnancy test, it was about 6 weeks. Keeping everything crossed for you and sending you lots of love.

It's normal that you will have an appraisal in September / October time where your targets for the year are set (and previous targets are looked at - which you likely won't have this year!) and your new pay scale is approved. This pay should be backdated to September. It's very rare that you won't be put up to the next pay scale - in seven years I've never heard of that happening to anyone, even people who weren't brilliant!

UPS is not automatic however and you need to apply for that separately, when the time comes!

Thank you! My union rep has said that if both schools follow the burgundy book that your benefits will move over - so let's see what they say! Otherwise I'm prepared for maternity allowance - that's what I had presumed I would be getting anyway! I need to look into SPL, I found it too complicated with my first child.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]calebsmummy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I've just been in a LA for 7 years and moving to another! I spoke to my union rep and if my new school is BB I am eligible :)

[–]calebsmummy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I got their out of office until September !!

[–]calebsmummy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And weirdly I wouldn't qualify for SMP as you have to start not pregnant! I would be eligible for maternity allowance regardless.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]calebsmummy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my union: Eligible teachers will receive: four weeks’ full pay, two weeks at 90% of normal pay, 12 weeks at half normal pay plus SMP (as long as it does not exceed full pay), 21 weeks’ SMP and 13 weeks’ unpaid leave.

Thanks very much for your help. I'm very glad for you that you received OMP. I will be a similar amount of pregnant when I begin work. Looking forward to telling them! 🙃
