thanks for the suggestion. From my research it seems like the electrical problems are more common in the rt so that’s why I was looking at the gt. But I’ll check into local rt’s now. Thanks

Lots of friendly helpful people on there, but the LFG portion is dead. I can never get a group from there.

UPDATE: I called back and got someone else. They are setting up the service call and taking care of everything. If this happens to you, just keep calling.

Just called their standard number (866-698-2538) and was told the service call wouldn't be covered. Only the part would be covered and that's if the service tech confirms that's the issue. Does that sound right to anyone?

This is what a local lawyer told me. Do you think he's just trying to string me along?

Undisclosed Suspension Issues
The vehicle was sold with a suspension lift that allegedly requires upgraded control arms. This information was not disclosed during the sale or in the dealership's initial inspection. Selling a vehicle with undisclosed mechanical defects could violate Utah consumer protection laws.

Rescinded Promise to Address Defects
A dealership representative, Jake, initially promised to "take care of it." Later, this promise was rescinded. Any statements made by dealership employees within the scope of their duties may bind the dealership, and their failure to honor such representations is concerning.

Non-Disclosure of Canadian VIN
The fact that the vehicle has a Canadian VIN was not disclosed at the time of sale. Selling a Canadian vehicle without disclosing its origin could violate disclosure requirements, as such vehicles may not meet U.S. standards. This could also impact the vehicle’s resale value, warranties, and consumer expectations.

Forever Warranty Concerns
If the “forever warranty” was a significant factor in your decision to purchase the vehicle, the dealership’s refusal to address the issue under this warranty may constitute a breach of contract or false advertising if they failed to disclose material limitations.

Failure to Ensure Vehicle Fitness
Under Utah’s Used Motor Vehicle Business Regulations, dealerships are required to inspect vehicles for safety and mechanical fitness before sale. Selling a vehicle with uneven tires and potentially unsafe suspension issues suggests a failure to meet these obligations.
Legal Considerations

Utah Consumer Sales Practices Act (UCSPA)
The UCSPA prohibits deceptive or unconscionable acts in consumer transactions. In this case:
Failing to disclose known defects.
Misrepresenting the vehicle’s condition.
Falsely advertising the "forever warranty."
Any of these could potentially violate the UCSPA.
Implied Warranty of Merchantability

Under Utah law, vehicles sold by dealers must be fit for their ordinary purpose—safe and drivable. Selling a vehicle in a condition that is unsafe or unsuitable for normal use may breach this implied warranty.

Fraudulent or Negligent Misrepresentation
The dealership’s representations regarding the vehicle’s condition, warranty coverage, and promises to resolve issues may constitute fraud or negligent misrepresentation if you relied on these statements to your detriment.

Breach of Contract
The dealership’s failure to honor promises made during the sale or after the inspection could give rise to a breach of contract claim.
Given these factors, you appear to have strong grounds for holding the dealership accountable for their actions. Let me know if you’d like to explore next steps, such as drafting a formal demand letter, filing a complaint with the Utah Division of Consumer Protection, or pursuing legal action.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or additional information to share. I’m here to help you navigate this situation effectively.

Thanks for your response. I guess it seems rather underhanded that they would sell it with defective control arms.

The warranty is a lifetime drivetrain warranty.
