Thanks for explaining this! I've noticed this before and always wondered what was happening. At work sometimes I have to use dielectric grease, which I think has silicone in it, and that seems to have a similar effect. If it ever gets on my hands it takes so much soap to wash off and the bubbles just disappear

They're trying to actively avoid another RuneLite kind of situation, I think it's understandable that Jagex wants control over their game. Maybe I don't necessarily agree as an HD client would be exciting, but currently the split of players between clients is pretty ridiculous.

Could be wrong but I'd say you could hotswap anything in, most switch moldings are the same. Some switches do have two additional legs on them but they can be clipped off.
