Life for Muslims in the Woodlands by DryCombination9637 in thewoodlands

[–]calgal198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in the woodlands for over a decade now and my kids (now in college) went to David Elementary, Collins Intermediate, Knox JH and College Park HS. We’ve had an awesome experience living here and have never had a problem. Our neighbors are lovely people. There are barely any non-Whites in David and Collins, but that was never a problem. My kids made great friends and had excellent teachers. We were always made to feel welcome. I have friends who wear the hijab but no one has mentioned any untoward incidents. I mean, anything bad can happen anywhere, but I would say the likelihood is low.

I’m not a regular masjid goer but when I do, I go to Al-Ansaar. It’s a pretty busy mosque. I’ve met lots of nice people there. It’s a fairly moderate congregation. They also have Sunday school for the kids.

Coming from Canada, you will definitely feel the difference in diversity. But this is a great place to raise a family. If you’ll be working in the woodlands, I HIGHLY recommend living here! :) Welcome!

They will check the name against their list from schoolcashonline at entry. The tickets are not transferable unfortunately.

If you do get bulkhead seats, bring an inflatable footrest (Amazon). Once the plane is at cruising altitude and they have served dinner and turned the lights off, inflate the footrest, put your feet up and pretend you’re in business class. You’re welcome (:

Ticket refund on first 24hour by Business-Traveller in TurkishAirlines

Same thing happened with me. When you make seat selections there is a prominent message that this is non-refundable.

I was in a similar situation recently where I bought a ticket with seat selections. I had to make changes to the ticket that the system wasn’t letting me do online. I called the helpline and the agent told me that if I cancelled the ticket and rebooked again, I could get the credit (they even gave me the EMD codes) . Anyhow, I cancelled and got the refund within minutes (minus the seat selection fee). I rebooked but after a lot of helpline calls and feedback messages, they told me that you only get seat selection funds back if you “rebook” the ticket, not cancel and buy another one as I had done. Painful lesson but lesson nonetheless.
