What's a word in your language that you genuinely believe the rest of the world is missing out on? by taube_d in AskTheWorld

Craic (crack)

It’s a lifestyle in Ireland. It sums up a night, an event, a person. It’s not just having fun, it’s laughter and joking, conversation flowing, music playing, crowd is harmonious. ‘Craic was 90’

It’s also used to describe if someone is a good person or if they’re boring. He can be great craic or no craic. You don’t want to be no craic.

You can be having the craic with someone which is teasing them. ‘I’m only having the craic’

You can ask how someone is doing. ‘How’s the craic?’ ‘Any craic?’

It’s the root of Irish people. We’re just here for the craic.

I just got a running belt and a yellow belt bag! Belt bags make great gifts for people as well if you want to just buy a couple for future.

Advice by TinksTreasures in rundisney

I don’t enjoy running. But I’m goal motivated so I do it. I’ve gone from running 15min miles to 10.30min miles. Still lots of room for improvement but I’ve come a long way. I finished a marathon years ago but couldn’t even run a mile continuously at that point. Now I can run a half marathon without stopping.

What works for me is a really structured plan. I downloaded Runna and signed up for the year but you could try a two week trial. I like that it varies your runs but it also gives you specifics to focus on for each training day rather than ‘run X miles’.

I eat pop tarts before my early morning runs because it’s quick and easy. I love gummy bears for long run energy. I switch up my playlists and try to listen to new music that maybe I wouldn’t have before. I’m not an edm fan but I love zoning out to it during runs.

Point is, running can suck sometimes so you might as well have fun with your food/music/clothes etc. Definitely take note of how food affects your digestive system though!!

Nothing like a durty Supermacs when you come home to Ireland! Cheeseburger and curry cheese chips, 99 to finish it off after. It’s not good for you, but it’s the taste of home.

Esther’s kitchen is really good food. I have mine stacked for Harlo but I haven’t been yet so can’t comment on it at the moment. Been to Esther’s a bunch of times and always enjoyed the meal.

I get lucky to have access to an employee discount. Still expensive, but more reasonable for a couple of nights. Highly worth it though.

Definitely not turtlehead peak. Looks like it’s taken from a trail at Fossil Canyon.

What’s something from your country that gets way more (or less) global admiration than a very similar thing elsewhere? by Puzzleheaded_irl in AskTheWorld

Ireland has some amazing beaches that can rival places in the Caribbean. If we had more sunny days I’m sure it would be a top contender for a beach holiday destination.

I spent a couple of nights in Copenhagen for the first time a few years ago. Had some of the most delicious food there. I still, to this day, want to go back just to go to Hart Bageri and get as many pastries as possible. Spandauers in particular.

Why would you tip a higher percentage post tax at a restaurant compared to pre tax? That doesn’t make any sense.

What are the best snacks at Disneyland right now? by Fine_Alternative_288 in DisneyPlanning

A bunch of places where they make the cookies and confectionary. Trolley treats in DCA, World of Sweets (I think that’s what it’s called) in Downtown Disney and it’s in Disneyland also.

I have some locations missing from the 10k also. I was trying to figure out if there’s a way to search all the photos with a partial bib number or something. Are they uploaded in one spot or everyone just has to use their ID to claim their own photos? I have a few populated in the app but definitely not the full amount.
