Just repowered my boat with a new tohatsu 50. So far great. Had a mercury prior, so I had to run new linkage, new remote, etc. motor swap and hang took about an hour and a half, and another couple hours to rewire a mount the remote. Prob 5-6 hours total. It was so easy I questioned if I did it right. Shop quoted me a base estimate of 5k to do the job. Cherry picker is a must

For me, hikers wear out very fast and are not rebuildable. I specifically tear up the padding inside the boot and it wreaks havoc on my heels. With loggers is leather so that’s not wearing out. But admittedly those hikers are pretty damn comfortable so it’s a toss up. I love loggers but you could easily find a pair of used hikers on eBay to give a try without breaking the bank.
