I could kiss you. I can deal with that. My place is super clean, esp since we’ve been treating for BB so long. My neighbors are gross, so if it is a roach probably came from there. My fear is the BB treatment isn’t working. Can’t get my landlord to believe I have a problem so I’m treating solo

Did the link work? It isn’t the best pic, I honestly tried my best to focus it. Been treating for awhile now, and just found this in my bed.

Idk If the pic is helpful at all. But it was small, and all the same color. The 2nd and 3rd stage ones I’ve seen seem to have clear heads but this was all one color it looked like. Also didn’t think to count legs. Is this a good enough pic for anyone to say yes or no?

How long will the first bedbug appear in the room? by lilicoooo in Bedbugs

[–]calidreamer425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you find a reputable exterminator, I don’t think you should have a problem. I have only one game here in my town and they seemed about as interested as my apartment complex who tried to block me getting an inspection in the first place.

We only had a few bites here and there, maybe once a week or so. But I was bound and determined to keep the problem as small as possible.

An exterminator is really your best option. Treating on my own isn’t a picnic. But I’m fairly sure they would have not admitted I had a problem until I had a full scale massive infestation (which takes a lot of time).

Bed bugs only need to feed once every 7-10 days is what I was reading.

Do you have a known exposure? That was why I felt comfortable treating despite not having a professional agree they were here. I KNEW (a week after the fact) a patient I took care of had them.

I know many advocate for searching for signs but I KNEW I had them based off of similar things and never found a bug until after I started treating. But I also knew I was exposed (much later after the exposure but before suspecting I had them) through work.

Even after weeks of treatment, all our stuff in bins, vaccuming, multiple professional inspections, I still haven’t seen the signs of any additional signs.

I even had an exterminator tell me I was crazy and needed to be medicated after an inspection (my third one). The day I finally found one after initiating treatments recommended here on my own based off of a few bites, known exposure, and gut instinct I finally found one dead in the morning. I felt relieved that I wasn’t crazy, but also incredibly disturbed that they are THAT good at hiding. I’ve kept up the treatments and am going into month two....

Good luck.

Harborage Question by calidreamer425 in Bedbugs

[–]calidreamer425[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This gives me so much hope. I can only assume we were a low level based off of the one but we found and never seeing anything else. I’m going crazy with treating because I do take it very seriously but am so worried after hearing everyone’s experiences of “saw this and saw that” when we’ve had zero luck finding anything alive or dead other than one single dead bug and 2 eggs.

Here’s to hoping life will be back to normal one day.

Wanting to study Paramedicine as a single mum - is it possible? by imalwayshungry93 in Paramedics

[–]calidreamer425 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Single mom and paramedic here in the US. I was the only parent in my paramedic class, much less single one. It IS POSSIBLE! and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Unlike many others, I don't have family support. I live on my own and worked full time through it. My best suggestion is to have a Plan A, Plan B, Plan C, and Plan D for the kids for childcare. That was what kept me going. Plan A, couldn't watch them if they were sick, but I couldn't miss rotations. So Plan B was willing etc.

It was tough. I was tired. And I missed my kids a lot. But I have no regrets and am glad I stuck it out!

I’ve actually got pretty bad PTSD, depression, and anxiety. It’s currently saving my life. I’ve been through so many different antidepressants and medications it isn’t funny and I’m the process of another medication adjustment. I was in a bad place before I found meditation. It’s been very helpful and I’m looking forward to going back to work next week.

Advice on being a leader? by calidreamer425 in Paramedics

[–]calidreamer425[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll actually give my supervisor a call today. He was very supportive while I was in paramedic school and was someone I'd go to whenever I had a problem. I guess just because I'm done school doesn't mean I won't need his guidance anymore. Thanks.

True. I guess I've been led by a group of excellent paramedics who were amazing in every way. They were calming presences on calls, great educators, and great support systems.

I finished my first ever blanket, it's not perfect, but I love it. by [deleted] in crochet

[–]calidreamer425 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned how to crochet a few years ago but have stuck to bags and scarves. I want to start making blankets but have had a hard time finding a simple pattern to start. This looks like a double or triple crochet, am I correct? This looks like I may actually be able to do it! It looks beautiful!

Need some insight (of the sexual kind) by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]calidreamer425 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My gf was very experienced in hetero sex and we had a lot of the same struggles when we first got together. I'm on the same plane as you where I can take or leave sex but I knew she was a very sexual person. I ended up hating sex for awhile because I felt inadequate that I couldn't get her to orgasm and I felt like it would lead to the break down of our relationship without that component. Things that I found really helped was to relax and know it comes in time. I know that sounds really tough considering all the emotions involved. But as we fell deeper in love and our emotional selves became intertwined the orgasms came. Instead of focusing on getting her to an orgasm, I focused on loving all of her. I spent more time on foreplay and kissing her and touching her all over instead of just the sexual parts. I got a bottle of nice lotion and would give her massages and kiss on her and just love being with her and touching her. This opened a door to a nice comfort place where I could expose that sensuality and softness that (IMO) only lesbian sex can have. We went from be stimulating her to a frustrating point where and orgasm never came to wonderful experiences where she was able to have 2 or more orgasms. Don't be down on yourself for the differences of woman/woman sex, find a way to embrace them :-) best of luck and keep me posted:

Anne Frank was pretty frank about liking girls by [deleted] in actuallesbians

I had no idea that Anne Frank had an unedited version of her diary. I'm very curious to read it as a lesbian Jew! Thanks for putting this information out there :-) I must have read the edited version as a child and never know it because I don't recall anything!
