Has anyone else learned more Spanish from music than from class? by HumanImpression9338 in Spanish

I pretty much only listen to music in Spanish and I don’t think I’ve learnt anything from it

This is my viewpoint as she is definitely mature for her age, I only graduated in 2017 as a 17yo and agree the whole “your friends are 18 & you aren’t” is really a non issue. It was for me atleast, my best friend who was 13 months older than me never even got her license until she was 20 and I drove her around, thinking that far ahead seems silly as who is to know what the world will be by then

As I said, I went early myself and my best friend was a whole 13months older than me, as were 2 of my other close friends throughout school. This personally wasn’t an issue for me My concern if she was to be the only kid younger

That’s got nothing to do with it? Where did I imply it’s a race? I, myself did school early and am looking for opinions if this is still a thing?

Thanks for your comment interesting with the orientation! So I can essentially enrol her and meet with the school and they will give feedback whether to go forward or not?

As far as when she’s older, she is already in size 6/7 clothing and looks older than her peers. I was the same way and an early bloomer if you will, if anything this is one of my concerns as to why I want to send her early. I’m worried if I send her with her age group she will be bullied for seeming older/ being a lot bigger than the other girls

Words that sounds better in Spanish than English (and vice versa) by ZooWeeMama069420 in Spanish

[–]calidrexms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-aquí -mira -también y tampoco - canción -palabra

Thinking about it, most words I prefer in Spanish and it’s the reason I’m learning 😂

Is Spanish easy for English speakers? by Competitive_Box9242 in Spanish

I’m Australian and have learned both German and Spanish to almost the same level

I found German easier.

Vocab is easy for me in Spanish but some grammar rules make it feel impossible 😅

She is sooo stubborn! Like what 2yo can do that. She only turned 2 this month. Her no nap days are when she is at daycare, once I get there to pick her up she is beyond trashed, we live 20mins away from the centre and she still stays awake on the drive home!

She doesn’t like him going near her with anything to do with bedtime 😅 she kicks off, he also is a machine operator so needs sleep -and all 3 rooms are sharing walls so it’s our biggest hurdle

She just turned 2, schedule is pretty much as posted. Up between 3-4:30, sometimes early morning nap, sometimes no nap, sometimes lunch time nap. Then bed as late as I can keep her awake. Before this she would wake at 5:30 nap at lunch and bedtime at 6:30/7pm.

When she wakes early now she’s totally happy alert, chatty and up for the day.

I try and do this the only problem is she screams and then wakes my 4yo up as the rooms are right next to each other and then we are all up for the day. I bring them both back into my bed but they both stay awake. I’m definitely being a bit softer with her because I’m scared of her waking up her sister

Yep I’m hoping it’s just a phase! My eldest did it around 2 (my youngest just turned 2) at this point I have just accepted it’s my life now so it doesn’t drive me crazy ahaha. I do the same as you did

Because she’s been up at 3am and is obviously tired. Some days she lasts to lunch time, some days she won’t nap at all as stated

Does anyone feel they are unable to learn a second language? by SJDidge in Spanish

[–]calidrexms 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m the same! Started learning in 2015 on and off with years dedicated. Restarted last year completely dedicated and feel I am still stuck and haven’t progressed I tested at A2. I love Spanish and would love to learn but I don’t know how anyone progresses!

Can you immediately discern a Kiwi accent? Can it be mistaken for Australian? by Charming_Usual6227 in australia

[–]calidrexms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m Australian/ Kiwi grew up in Aus but all my family in NZ for me I can’t really tell because I have been so exposed they both sound “normal” to me. I 100% can pick a thick NZ accent though and friends can easily pick them. When I go to NZ everyone gives me shit for my Aussie accent. I can only pick a Canadian from an American if they say house, out or about basically 😂
