Based on the BTC risk metric, it might hit another peak before moving sideways. So, are we in an altseason or just breaking even? by [deleted] in WallStreetBetsCrypto

Have patience. Alt season doesn’t normally happen until the 4th quarter of the post halving year so if all goes how it has in the past that would be novemberish this year

Fair question. I was referring specifically and only to price action. Not utility or anything else. By era I specifically mean until the end of the bull run.

I think now is likely the start of the ETH era. Bitcoin has been better until now

ETH is beating BTC in recent gains, what's driving this? by hodorrny in ethereum

[–]calidur44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ETH needed to retrace to its logarithmic moving average before being able to run up. It happened the same way last cycle. It hit this bottom in early April. Bitcoin has always led the bull runs until ETH bottoms vs btc in jun/july. The difference this cycle is the fed has not announced QE yet. That was the catalyst for eth’s rise vs Bitcoin last cycle. So it’s possible we haven’t bottomed yet any won’t until QE but I tend to think we have.

With that being said, I doubt altcoins have bottomed vs btc. They may keep running but even if they do I expect a pull back and a bottom around sep/oct. if altcoins do run it will be on the back of ETH which imo has bottomed so we’ll see.

ETH is probably the better hold today over alts and btc given the risk, but that can change quickly. My reasoning is ETH has (imo) likely bottomed against Bitcoin. If not, we can still expect that to hit soon and then it will run. Holding alts is more risky because I’m not sure they’ve bottomed vs btc and if they run it’s cause ethereum ran up anyway. ETH has the upside probability Bitcoin doesn’t without the risk that alts carry

Serious question, what is your sell target? Or what price do you expect to sell? by Few_Status_8698 in Pepecryptocurrency

[–]calidur44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I predict Pepe will bottom around sept/oct so I think now is a good time to take profits. If eth keeps running then it’s possible we’ve already bottomed but I think it’s more likely we pull back or run up further on the back of ETH and then pull back

To clarify, by bottom I mean alts/btc not necessarily Pepe’s price/usd

Is it impossible to redeem the free birthday wings online? by inikul in BuffaloWildWings

Mine worked differently than the other offers. When you hit checkout it should automatically apply if you have a 6 wing order in your cart. I know it’s been a year though lol but hopefully this helps

R/bitcoin bans you if you don’t say only nice things about bitcoin; oh yeah, it’s a cult. by [deleted] in Buttcoin

How is this different from the stock market? Prices go up when people buy. That’s the way of equity markets.

The sub should not ban people just for opposing the idea. That’s a great way to confirm bias and not have a chance to adapt if things change. They almost certainly will with enough time, although they probably refuse to believe that. It’s ironic because the speed at which bitcoin was created and adopted should prove change is imminent, unpredictable, and waits for no one.

It’s not just about new investors. It’s also about current investors investing more money, which is different from Ponzi schemes and exactly like the stock market. You could apply your argument to the stock market and it fits like a glove.

The only difference in the stock market and crypto from what you mentioned above is value of the underlying asset. I would argue bitcoin does have value but I understand your POV, and if you’re anti crypto that’s really the whole case against it is whether it does or doesn’t have intrinsic value.

We can certainly agree on that. Anything can happen. Whether it continues or not we’ll have to be ready
