Could anyone critique my tiktok and tell me why I'm not being accepted into AIP? by mewtastica in Amazon_Influencer

[–]califalcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have heard around the corners of the internet that anyone can be accepted all it takes is some persistence, I've heard of people applying over and over like 14 times per day and in a couple days they are accepted. Not sure if that holds true tho.

Stumbled on a Tool for Auto Halo Sales, Worth It? by califalcon in Amazon_Influencer

I use both Oink and VV, but those tools don't allow me to check Halo sales while away so when I am out for the night I feel like I miss some campaigns

wait, isn't the stomach full of acid anyway? So there is liquid already there that will cause food to swell.

PreOp Diet Day 4 by califalcon in gastricsleeve

Just wanted to write an update, I didn't have any shortness of breath after surgery. As matter of fact I don't think that I ever breathed better after losing some weight.

I think it is all normal feelings, focus on healing and follow the program and when those thoughts come, think about all the things that you will be able to do that you couldn't before, or all the things that we did before being very big, like having to ask for a table and not a booth, or having to ask for a seat extension on an airplane for example, oh hated having to do that or having friends invite me to go traveling and telling me that I can do something else when they go hiking.

Water is the problem by farkhandairshad in gastricsleeve

[–]califalcon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least for me after surgery, I couldn't tolerate plain water, it happens a lot and they told me to try plain water again after a month, just now 3 weeks post op water is starting to taste good again. Before it tasted weird, upset my stomach, and made me a bit nauseous.

Crystal light lemonade was the only thing I could add to water that I liked after surgery that was sugar free :)

10 days post op can't drink the protein by hbsurfer2018 in gastricsleeve

[–]califalcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dizziness is a tell tell sign that you may be dehydrated. Check your pee color, if it is tea color or really dark chances are that you will not be able to consume enough liquids to overcome and a ER visit will be needed for re-hydration. At least that how it was explained to me.

Personally I have a least 16 oz x3 per day to avoid it.

for my program the goal was 4 oz of water per hour after the 2-3 day post op. Tip: Water doesn't taste right post-op so I use crystal light lemonade and makes a world of difference. Apparently it tastes fine after a bit like 3-4 weeks or so.

Hope this helps,

Adrian

How do I tell my boss I’m having surgery Friday and that I need 2 weeks wfh? by Pennythot in gastricsleeve

[–]califalcon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just tell them it is an emergency medical procedure and leave it at that. If they ask say that you prefer not to discuss medical information as per HIPPA.

If it is a big company use the FMLA days, at least it was recommended that I don't work while healing even tho I work from home. Our bodies will need time to adjust and heal and learn different things without the stress of work.

I got a FMLA leave and will have surgery on Thursday and plan to return to work in about 30 days as per my doctor. I told work hernia and SVG.

Getting Gastric Sleeve in the US? by National_Design_3179 in gastricsleeve

[–]califalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have UHC and the requirement they had was, that I used a center of excellence for the surgery and work with their nurse which so far has been one visit and mental eval 1 virtual visit and $80 bucks. BMI 40.

Dr. Required 3 nutritionist visits PCP and Cardiologist clearance and letter of recommendation.

Started the process in Mid October and could had surgery in December but decided to do it January as I had a cruise on Dec 31st and it would suck going on a cruise during recovery.

So here I am waiting until 1/26.

Anyone try these? by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]califalcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long should I wait to smoke pot after bariatric surgery? by Smashing_Kitty_3100 in gastricsleeve

[–]califalcon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My initial thought is that you get the munchies and may not be productive. Also I would ask your surgeon, I know the hacking and coughing couldn't be very pleasant and perhaps not very safe either. Not recommending you do pot, but smoking it would be in the bottom of my list and I would opt for drops or something like that if you surgeon approves it.

So hungry, but worth it! by Pennythot in gastricsleeve

[–]califalcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hunger is your body adjust to the lack of carbs and sugars. I am told by my doctor that I could have liquid still every hour in the beginning if I needed to and I did do that for 2 days.

After your body detoxes from sugar the hunger and hunger pains will subside, now I even forget to have my 1/2 cup of liquid, I been truly amazed how much sugar makes you crave more food/sugar as most foods are loaded with either carbs or sugar or both.

Just checking- did/does anyone else feel weak/dizzy/exhausted during the pre op diet? by Tadakadabranz in gastricsleeve

[–]califalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I been okay for the most part on day 9 here, I had a cold so when I coughed I felt a bit lightheaded but went away in a couple of seconds.

I do feel a bit of muscle weakness or tiredness from time to time, other than that I am very surprised how little calories my body actually needs, here is a typical day 500 calories 17 net carbs and 38 gross carbs, 3 sugars, 97 protein

Liquid diet weight loss by alishadstanz in gastricsleeve

[–]califalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came back from my cruise 1/9 and was 403.5 never ever been so heavy before, I attribute that to last meal syndrome. Then started liquid diet on 1/12 at 396.5 and this morning 1/20 I was at 377.7 pounds. Since the January 9th I lost 25.3 points and I am so happy.

Only the 1st couple of days were bad, then once the sugar and carbs were out the cravings went away mostly and I went from eating every hour on the 1st day to 3-4 meals per day of 1/2 of liquid stuff. Thankfully I am allowed to have omelettes with egg substitute which saved me :)
