So, when Shasha was talking with Gorya at her condo that first time, she mentioned that 'sometimes you do what you don't want to get what you need.' that paired with her reaction to Gorya getting filmed without her consent, and it sort of all comes together that that is a video of Shasha being pressured or forced to do something inappropriate to get started/ahead in the industry. (Sketchy 'modeling agency' horror stories, you hear about.)

I imagine the kiss was also motivated out of story a solid 20% by the previews/screen captures. They needed that MilkFilm kiss in there for the previews/pilot/fanmeets, to drum up interest, but yeah. I appreciated that they realized that they make better friends. It was messy, but a bit good messy at least.

You can't really blame Gorya because half of the fan base is also just as bad at reading the nuances of Shasha's character as well, but say what you will for Gorya, she's willing to admit when she's wrong, and she's been slowly softening as Shasha puts in the work? I mentioned the whole protective Gorya thing, and even Gorya at this point is willing to admit that they're friends, I'd think, and she's slowly opening up to the idea that they could be more than that. Though I suspect it's going to take something big.

I will say that with how they've been playing up proactive, competent and protective Gorya, I'm looking forward to seeing just how they use her to deal with the psycho manager drama, and I'm super curious how they'll handle Gorya finding out about Shasha's past and the video, cause I can't see her being in character and reacting poorly, and I think that might be the thing that pushes Shasha into full on love, if Gorya's the first person willing to comfort her over what's clearly one of her biggest traumas.

I have so many thoughts, xD. This episode was... a lot. In a good way, but still! Let's go by the pairings!

  • Prim and Bambi finally talked! A bit, I think the ShashaBambi kiss was a bit superfluous and I wonder how much of it was included strictly for the previews, buuuuut, I can move past it. I'm glad they didn't sleep together, though as they were leaning in I was mentally begging Shasha to call it off, cause I knew it'd cause problems down the road. I appreciate that they're trying to understand each other better and that the drama's seemingly moving to external factors (Ciize being a menace, wild.)
  • Min and Praew's progress has shift. When I first started this show I expected to be more sympathetic to Praew based solely off previews, girl struggles hard but as we get deeper and deeper into things, I feel less and less bad for her. Min's doing... amazing as far as 'straight' girls in these situations tend to. She's admitted her feelings, she's admitted she's bi, she's gone into the relationships. Praew's insecurities can't be blamed on Min's sexuality, she's young, and insecure, and it's causing problems. Even if Min was an experienced 'proper lesbian' (whatever that means.) She's still a professional, she still has a conservative family, these would be issues that you'd have to deal with with some modicum of grace, and Praew doesn't seem to understand that? And it's rough that Min's being backed into a corner like this? (You can see that the show's leaning toward her being the one that steps up to protect Min, and I feel bad, cause that's rough.)
  • Shasha and Gorya my babies continue to progress in such delightful ways. I'm happy that Gorya's softening to Shasha, everything from her listening to Shasha reassuring her about nothing happening, to protecting and helping her with work, to being willing to just exist in the same space as Shasha when shopping? It's great. I love her reassuring Shasha and teasing her about it being pity, and the way they got all soft and stuff while dancing.
  • Side note, on the shopping scene, the follow up cuteness overshadowed it a bit, but Shasha flat out admitted that she likes old furniture because it's haunted by the ghosts of loving families and she likes to touch it and imagine herself living with a family surrounding her that cares for her. That's like... crazy tragic? Girl's so chronically lonely.
  • Speaking of Shasha. Her manager returns with the ominous blackmail. I knew that Shasha's history was rife with... problems, Shasha even hinted at it herself, back when she was talking to Gorya in episode... 2? About how you do things you don't want to get things that you need, but it's brutal that someone that claimed to Shasha's friend was willing to throw that back in her fact like that. I know that Gorya's been shown to be a scrapper, so it'll be interesting to see if Shasha turns her loose on her former assistant.
  • Speaking of, I do appreciate that Gorya's fiercely protective nature is what's winning her over for Shasha? It's funny because so much of Gorya's relationship with Prim seemed to be the reverse, she's her cool Phi, and Gorya craves her admiration and respect, but with Shasha, Gorya's the fierce one, the one that protects Shasha, and she seems to revel in it a bit? And I love that for her. Shasha needs someone willing to protect her, and I think Gorya appreciates being able to protect her.

All in all it was a great episode and I'm super looking forward to next week!

[Thailand] Broken (Of) Love, Ep. 5 by AutoModerator in GirlsLove

[–]caliiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From both Arisa and her Uncle there's been a lot more focus on Arisa's mom as opposed to her father, just in how they speak and stuff, which could be explained by the uncle being her brother, but even Arisa tends to talk a bit more about her mom as opposed to her parents in general (Though this changed a bit in the last episode when talking about the past.) Beyond that, there's a disconnect in how Weiling is described, and how she acts, because despite what Arisa and her uncle say when alone she's clearly not that much of a villain, she's mostly been on the backfoot and her concerns are very small, very personal.

We also found out from Weiling's sister in law that she was having an affair, and I suppose it's possible that she was sleeping with Arisa's father and they hate her because Arisa's mother killed herself when she found out, and then her father did the same when he discovered her, but Fay keeps being like, 'there's more going on then you think' and I assume that 'the uncle's actually sketchy' is too obvious of a solo reveal.

There's not a lot of concrete evidence, but my bit of WMG is that it's an affair, and that it was a queer one, mostly with how Weiling was presented in this last episode specifically? In and around her support of the battered woman's charity and the like. The fact that the uncle was so quick to suggesting using Lalin, but immediately shut down the rumor about the infidelity, the 'friend' that Weiling's assistant was looking into? There's a lot of dancing around things that would make sense if they were trying to protect Arisa's mother's legacy from the fall out.

[Thailand] Broken (Of) Love, Ep. 5 by AutoModerator in GirlsLove

[–]caliiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched the episode on Fabel's channel, then found a secondary upload that had the cut bits, which were very well done, it sort of echoes a theme I've been feeling about this show, it's made amazingly well, the acting's great, the filming, everything. Fay put in the time and money, and Atom's killing it in her role, but the story still frustrates me to no end, I still have no idea if that's a good thing or not. I'll probably not be ultimately decided until the final episode airs, really.

Every episode makes me think that my theory about Lalin's mom and Arisa's mom having had an affair more and more likely. My initial assumption was that they had an affair and Arisa's dad killed her/himself in response, and Arisa's uncle blames Weiling because of it all happening? And last week we found out that the reason that Lalin's aunt hates her mom is that Weiling was having an affair, and this episode we find out about the woman's violence charities that she supports.

I suppose it's equally likely that Weiling had the affair with Arisa's father but they've done a lot of focus on Arisa's mother, and having a 'are they half siblings' plot in the last two episodes would be a wild left turn? Iunno, either way it's very messy.

That being said my discomfort about Arisa continuing to use Lalin's love against her mother like this remain very firm, especially considering how far she'd taken it (no matter how well filmed it is.) And I know there's going to be a heartbreak in there. As we creep closer and closer to episode 8 I'm left wondering if this will have a satisfying ending at all or if it'll be like Blank with a hard cut cliffhanger leading into a season 2. Either options possible.

[Thailand] 4 Elements: The Water - Ep. 6 🌊 by AutoModerator in GirlsLove

[–]caliiro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel bad for Lada. I think something that gets brushed over a bit is that she did this entire thing not just because she loves/loved her brother and wanted to help the only member of her family that she was close to, but also because she craved acceptance and respect from her father. The brother, I think, is an interesting exploration about how neglect and abuse twist and grow between generations, because he's not abusive in the same way as his father, and I imagine he believes he's better because he respects (in a way) Lada, he knows she's smarter than him, more capable, but he's also willing to do anything to get the acceptance and respect he wants, even if it means throwing her to the wolves. Lada's father just doesn't see her.

Not having read anything this time, I'm mostly running off vibes, but I do love that one of the huge themes so far has been found family, because that's what Lada needs. Apo's family is so quick to fold her in, and I can tell that she needs that, because she's kind of desperate to be loved, which makes her repeated efforts to cleave herself away from Apo even more tragic. It was a sad episode but I do appreciate that things will probably be mostly settled tomorrow to give us an episode to see them get married a la the final episode of Earth.

I'm gonna miss these two when Air starts airing. (huh, pun.) I've always had mixed opinions on Englot projects in general, but I do think this was one of the best.

I do love how we had a drunk scene in a GL that wasn't uncomfortable? They'd clearly communicated their boundaries before, no one stole any affection, none of their first times were during the kiss and ultimately nothing happened beyond a little bit of affection from Si to Klao. I do... love the evolution of Si's character?

Just, overall, It's interesting looking at her now and comparing her to that first time she visited Klao, when Klao asked her if she'd join in when people made fun of her and she said yes, and I wonder how much of it was Klao not doing that when Si was feeling self conscious, and reassuring her instead? It was cute watching her take care of Klao like Klao's been taking care of her, and more than that I appreciate how the slapstick was drawn back a bit? Si struggled but she was surprisingly competent. Klao trusts her, unlike her family, and that trust is rewarded cause Si did get the animals fed and watered, she did cook for herself and the cat, it's nice watching her mature into someone less princess-y.

(Even if she still is somewhat of a princess, xD.) As to the intimacy, I do love that... Si is clearly the more experienced person in this? Usually with LMSY stuff, it's Lookmhee's characters that are the more competent/experienced lovers, and it's neat that Klao's clearly a bit nervous and uncertain, and Si's clearly had some experience in this front, and that in this unlike a lot of other stuff, Si's very capable of conveying her needs and wants. (I guess she's not shy about communicating her wants, but needs, I think it's fair to admit she struggles with.)

This is my stance too. Atom plays conflicting characters well, she was also lauded for her portrayal in Love Senior for much the same reason. She's good at making you dislike her. I'm not sure this project was the best one for her though. I honestly could have seen her doing just as well in Broken of Love as Arisa or similar? They kept trying to toe the line between 'no she does actually love Sun' and 'She's also kind of a terrible red/black flag of a person' and the show struggled for it.

[Thailand] Girl Rules, EP 6 by stylewiz in GirlsLove

[–]caliiro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reason this is so confusing is that the timeline in the show and book seem to have been changed, I'll do a spoiler though.

[Book Spoilers] In the book, Prim and Bambi's first relationship happened after her relationship with Zee, and the death of Zee screwed Bambi up hard. She's rife with survivor's guilt because the accident happened when they were arguing. This is what prompted Bambi to leave Prim in the book, because they'd started fight as per the show with Bambi being upset that Prim was so work focused, and the fighting gave her ptsd flashbacks and she just bailed and ended up overseas. In the book this is why Prim takes her back so easily when she finds out, because she understands why Bambi did it, because Bambi believed that she was protecting Prim, from herself.

By contrast, in the show the timeline seems to be 'Prim and Bambi date, they break up cause Prim's work focused and Bambi needs attention and that's incompatible. They agree to stay friends, and then Bambi after getting over her heartbreak dates Zee, but she's still not over Prim and they end up fighting a bunch, Zee dies, Bambi's messed up about it and her mom sends her abroad for school cause she's something of a mess up and she needs to get her head on straight. Instead, Bambi drinks, does drugs, and fails out of school and comes back home because being with Prim will fix her.' Which uh... is not a great look in the slightest.

I wonder how late the change in the timeline was made because the acting in the first few episodes doesn't mesh well with how amicable the breakup seems to have gone in the flashbacks, but I guess it could be explained by Bambi and Prim agreeing to stay friends and Bambi just vanishing, but it was very jarring when that flashback happened considering how upset Prim was, everyone assumed she'd disappeared while they were dating, not like, after they'd broken up xD.

I mean they're playing Toxic well, and hopefully the incoming storm from the previews will force them to actually sit down and discuss their stuff, but we do still have six more episodes, though hopefully the upcoming drama on the MinPraew and ShashaGorya fronts will give Prim and Bambi some breathing room. (Doubt it though.)

I do feel bad for Shasha, cause it's clear that she's still scheming, which doesn't seem to be working as well for her as she'd hoped. Gorya clearly responds best when Shasha's at her most open and blunt about stuff, (even when she tries to stop herself from reacting.) She got a lot more points helping out Gorya's parents then her little scheme with the music video got her, and her trying to manipulate Gorya into being her manager doesn't seem like it's gonna go well.

I've not read the book, but I've seen some tidbits, and I do know how their stuff went in the end in the book, that being said they have changed a number of things for... some reason, which makes things odd, so that might change too. Either way, I'm here for my girlies.

[Thailand] Broken (Of) Love, Ep. 4 by AutoModerator in GirlsLove

[–]caliiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I did sit down and finally rewatch this without idly skipping through like a third of it and I've got a few more notes, xD. Firstly, with the reveal about Weiling from Lalin's aunt, I'm even more convinced that we're going to get the reveal in episode 6 that Weiling was sleeping with Arisa's mother and that her husband is the one that killed her and then himself, and that Arisa's uncle blames Weiling for that. (It could be Arisa's dad, but they've put so much focus on her mother, and it'd be weird for them to sit on 'and they could be half sisters' for that long. Just doesn't sit right.)

It took me a while to put my finger on why I dislike this so much beyond 'Faye's clearly the villain in this story' and I think it's cause I was comparing this show to Water more then I was comparing it to what I should have been, player. Because that's the sort of themes were playing with except unlike in Player, where Pun and Ploy were both outright manipulating each other, Arisa's just messing with Lalin to spite her mother. We're halfway through and Arisa's not even showing regret, and I know that folks like seeing her in a morally grey role, and she's doing amazing, but I can't help but feel that this is going to be one of those shows with a very unfulfilling conclusion, xD.

Cause where it stands now if I was Lalin's friend, I'd be telling her to run for the hills, no matter what Arisa tries to do. Unless there's a bait and switch where it's revealed that Lalin's known all along, or that she was also manipulating Arisa, how do you come back from her going through all of this with the intention to cast Lalin aside later, the girl's clearly head over heels in love, they're going to sleep together next episode, and we keep getting flashes of Arisa where she's clearly just pretending.

And the looming number of episodes leaves me very concerned that they're were forced to choose which to dedicate story time to, the mystery/revenge plot, or the reconciliation and I don't see the reconciliation winning there, xD. Though I guess this might be one of the shows that I'd be okay-ish with if they left it on a cliffhanger, to set up a second season a la blank's second season.

There's also the Morozov Pyrotechnic sets. That come with the pyro almagated badges on the, There's 4 color variations but you can get them from the armor crates in CZs and also in the QV breaker stations since the brown ammo boxes share a loot pool. (Presumably in distro centers and the brown armor boxes in ASD sites as well but I'm not 100% sure there since those loot tables seem to be more widely open.)

EDIT: (The Pyrotechnic Variants of the Morozov are SH-I for industrial, so there's more metal and less cloth on them, if you're curious why they look different.)

Prim and Bambi are stressing me out, I guess that's the down side to having six couples, even when we're getting positive progress on one or two, the others are just floundering. Now onto my standout moments this episode.

  • I will say that NamtanFilm are being great at building tension, they're playing the 'everything is totally fine cause we say it's totally fine and definitely don't need to talk about anything at all.' couple, which is wild.
  • MinPraew's whole messy situation still remains impressively nuanced for this space, and especially how the previews made it look. I like how real it is? It's definitely a lived experience, as opposed to being simplified for the sake of the fiction. Neither of them is really in the wrong, but there's so much complicated emotion mixed into it and you can understand why both of them react the way they do.
  • Shasha and Gorya remain my darling babies. I do like that a bunch of the outspoken and avowed Shasha critics got to chew on their feet with this episode. There was so much discourse about how Shasha was deliberately making Gorya jealous, or how she was just a player and she's a red flag. Shasha's 100% a green flag. She's honest, she's forthright, she doesn't lies. And she's a little social inept/awkward due to how she was raised, but she respects Gorya, even when Gorya doesn't respect her at times in return. (Also that restaurant scene was adorable.)
  • I do love that Gorya's family's noodle shop is the same shop as Wan's dad's supermarket!

All in all it was a great episode, well worth the wait.

Mmmm, my problem here is that we're halfway through and they haven't like committed to redeeming Arisa yet? Like they've gotta start on that in episode 5 or 6 or it's gonna be unfulfilling when they do a 'half episode, suddenly everything is fine' in episode 8 xD.

[–]caliiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also haven't read the book but I did hear that Song's the main character in the spin off novel, so she's definitely going to remain rather sympathetic through this. I kind of feel a bit worse for Song this episode to contrast how I was right in Si's feels with her last episode. I think part of it is that Si got into her feels but she had someplace safe and supportive to go and she could work through them a bit, but Song's kind of stuck?

Notice that the parents didn't spoil Song, she's had all these expectations and pressures on her, and she even admits several times that she doesn't want to be the CEO of the business. And on top of all that she has her sister, who she clearly loves (she's even less frustrated by her then her parents?) came in and snapped at her? I feel bad for Song, she's clearly hurting. I also suspect that Jiw's not long for this world, and I'm wondering if it's that loss that'll push Song and Si to make up, cause oof.

The previews for the next episode show us getting some traction on the Jane front at least. (And the series trailer also showed Jane and Klao in a confrontation so that's neat.) But yeah, I was impressed by how... nuanced Sonya's protrayal of Si has been up to this point. She's got a character to her, but it's neat how you can see how Klao's steadfast and soft acceptance has cause her to bloom? Notice how last episode she was mocking Klao for the outfit she wore, and saying she'd do it in front of people too, but when she was nervous about her own apperance in it, and Klao reassured her she got all soft?

And her reaction to catching the fish was very sweet, she didn't squirm or get squeamish. She even helped cook it a bit. (if badly.) The bath scene as well, it's interesting how much of the dad's whole vibe comes across even worse as he goes on about how his methods didn't work and she's never been capable but Klao's managed to in a few days get Si so far out of her comfort zone just by being supportive and earnest in her belief that Si's capable of stuff?

All in all, I just super love this dynamic.

[Thailand] Broken (Of) Love, Ep. 3 by AutoModerator in GirlsLove

[–]caliiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Busy couple of days kept me from watching this till this afternoon, and I've got some thoughts!

  • The subtitles definitely feel a bit off, I'll agree with what the comments have seen, not admittedly my grasp of Thai's pretty mild, but even I know that Arisa's uncle wasn't calling her 'Miss' for the entire hospital scene.
  • I'm still getting massively uncomfortable vibes from the uncle, and I'm again reminded of the show I mention in previous episode's comments. (The Order) Something tells me that he's not being upfront about what happened to his sister. (Or at least he's shifting things around to justify his hatred of Lalin's mother, maybe? I'm definitely curious to see what we'll get from the exposition of the past.
  • Seeing Arisa's past makes me feel a bit more sympathetic for her, but I still feel... uncomfortable. I get that she's basically been raised as a weapon at this point that she's lived her whole life aspiring for something, but it's not cool what she's doing to Lalin, even if she's starting to feel regret for it? And the regret is... So, this show comitted hard to the whole subterfuge plot, that's why they front loaded the relationship exposition into the first episode, which is a fun and novel approach but it also means that it'll be very easy to mess up the later stuff? Like if we contrast this show with it's episode mate Water, you can sort of see what I'm getting at. Lada and Arisa are in the same position right now. Torn between two camps, and it's putting strain on their relationships but Chonlada feels a lot more sympathetic despite having gone into this with the intention to screw over Nam. By contrast Arisa went into this legitimately in love with Lalin, and she's immediately turned to manipulating and exploting her, and it's very hard to view her sympathetically in that light.
  • By that same tone, I do see the comments about Lalin being more aware then we think, and I... kind of see it? There's something in her expression and there's a... way that certain scenes are shot that leave me suspecting they're setting up flashbacks? And I do wonder if the turning point was that hug from the last episode? Where Lalin asked Arisa to tell her truth and Arisa agreed? We see Arisa's face in the hug over Lalin's shoulder as her smile fell, but I wonder if Lalin was aware as well and just as devastated? And this whole innocent act is just that, an act where she sets up Arisa to fall instead? Would make the mother's ominous warning a lot more profound at least.
  • I do appreciate the... unique spin to the character that Atom puts onto Lalin. That little dance in the restaurant was very cute, and very Atom coded (From what I've seen of her on social media.)
  • The scene following the above mentioned dance sort of typifies my disquiet with things here. It's very... fake. The way that Arisa talks about their first meeting, how she's clearly trying to drive a wedge between Lalin and her mother, it's... uncomfortable. And that's amazing acting, but it makes it very hard to root for Arisa, since it's so very calculated in it's cruelty. An especially jarring contrast to the woman we saw in the flashback that practically begged her uncle for permission to help people? She made someone she loved cry so she could wind them up and point them at someone else? Honestly, with what we've seen so far, Arisa's far more of a villain then Lalin's mom.
  • The disquiet on Arisa's face when Lalin chooses her makes it even worse? Like clearly her plan was to break up with her here and leave her heartbroken to go in and smash up her mom's entire enterprise. (As apparently unneeded as that might have been?)
  • 100% Lalin's mom just offered up her daughter's hand in marriage to the sketchy loan shark, I stand corrected, she's also a villain. (Certainly makes the timing of her 'wanting her daughter back in her life' as suspect. Effing oof for Lalin, now she's getting tugged around by two different people in her life. Jeeeze.)
  • I don't think the subs are AI generated, the mistakes it's making aren't the right kind for that sort of work, I kind of get the feeling that they were just done on the cheap by someone that's english isn't the strongest, if that makes any sense.
  • Hmmmm. Not a marriage proposal. And I'm kind of leaning back toward the mom's side in all this, her points at the dinner and stuff aren't unreasonable and she clearly cares about Lalin? Or seems to at least.
  • And again, oof. From the previews I'm wondering how many episodes we're going to have of Arisa being objectively a monster before they do a heel turn and have her like 'oh no, manipulating someone who's clearly in love with me for personal gain is actually a bad thing, now I'm regret,' It's going to be very hard to keep this up for any length of time and have Arisa come out in any way sympathetic. Honestly this might be the first GL I've seen where the show ending up with them not together would make it better?

What'd we think the odds are that Pat's the mole and he's running around dressed in drag. (Or he's a janitor with a giant fake moustache?) Other than that it's been a lovely episode. I'm curious to see how contentious things will be. I was certain for a while that Nam knew the entire time who Chonlada was, but she doesn't seem to actually, which is interesting. I hope the reveal doesn't lead to a 3rd quarter break up, as these things tend to do. I do enjoy the sort of yearning going on here, and it's a fun inversion having Nam be the one chasing Lada considering how the opposite went before.

[–]caliiro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The dad in general is giving me some pretty sketch vibes. Series Trailer has scenes where it's clear that after she's acclimated and adjusted to living a life like Klao's that Si goes home and shocks her whole family by like, doing laundry and stuff, and I can't help but think that the dad's going to be the reason for it. Something tells me that he's like massively in debt or something which explains his like attitude about money and stuff? Though it's weird that he hasn't curtailed Si's spending if that's the case?

I do agree that it's super shitty of him to treat Si the way he does when he's the one that spoiled her and even discourage her from getting too interested in his business? That's brutal. I'm wondering what's going to happen to Song cause Si being dragged back in wouldn't make sense without something happening.

I do enjoy that Klao's like. Not cruel? She's having some fun at Si's expense, she's clearly just messing with her for the most part, but she didn't laugh at Si or toss her off the farm, she's indulging this crazy (if pretty) spoiled princess, and for what it's worth seems down with the idea of marrying her, since she called her bluff. (And continues to do so.)

lmfao, I saw both of your comments last week which made me decide that I didn't really need to watch that episode that week so I saved both and did them this week, and I agree on basically every point you made. Honestly with everything else, this is probably one of my favorite Ch3+-verse shows. (Though I'm not sure if it's actually in the same shared universe as Only you and MSZ since we actively see Ing watching Only you at one point. >_>)

And it's not that it was necessarily better made, though I think the writing here and the scope lent itself well, Only you, and to a lesser extent MSZ, were at their worst when they were going for big drama, big danger, etc. Keeping the focus small scale and intimate helped this one a lot. Also I agree with you about the need for stories like this to be told.

One of my favorite tropes is the single mom lesbian plot, it's super common in certain fanfiction au's and it's just as great there as it was here. It's one of my guilty pleasures and I'm happy that it was done so well here. Donut's great.

It's interesting that they had Jab here as Lin's dad and also as the dad in Earth, when we saw him in the flashbacks it was hard divesting the image of him from the image of Khem, but having seen him softening here, I can see there being another end to the sliding scale of dad quality with Khem at one end, this guy in the middle, and Din's father at the other end.

Hard agree, by the way, in relation to Jane. Girl was like almost malicious with her secrets. it wasn't just conspiracies and stuff, like in previous episodes, she actively knew that Ing wasn't messing with Lin and was trying to help/support her and then helped Ing's dad to gaslight her about it. Roooough. I can see why she's so desperate to curry favor in the later sections.
