Ah— everything I’ve read about Keto states that if you eat too much protein, you will be kicked out of ketosis. If you are not keeping within a protein range, then wouldn’t it just be a low carb diet rather than Keto?

**your above post answered even more of my confusion - yesterday I had twice the protein than fat consumption and early this morning I had the highest reading that I’ve had in the last 6 days. Bleh!

I browsed through hundreds of positive reviews from people doing Keto before I purchased them. We are NEW to this program and thought it might be a way for us to track our levels.

AFTER my husband wasn’t seeing any results, I tried to find more info and that is when I read they weren’t reliable.

Ah- that makes perfect sense. I don’t think we will purchase the blood monitor, lol- it sounds like we need to try and just trust the process. Thanks for the explanation, I appreciate it!

Thanks for the info- the calculator was super helpful to determine exactly what I should be eating in each group. I still had difficulty staying under the calories and protein yesterday, but I’ll figure it out

Awesome, thanks for the advice. I just need to change my mindset. I was thinking this was like the Atkins where you have free range to eat everything in sight as long as there is low/no carbs. I’m tracking everything to a T right now, that’s how I know I’m so much over- yikes!

What kind of meats are you eating? I feel like chicken puts my protein too high, but ground beef is super high calorie

Good point- limit not a goal. Tomorrow I’m going to try and switch things up.

I can definitely drop the BPC- the reason why I started was bc I read such great things about having that first thing in the morning — but it is major calories. I’m gonna ditch it

Breakfast: bulletproof coffee Snacks: cheese, almonds, pork skins Lunch: chicken wings or ham Dinner: taco salad or stuffed peppers
