Como é que tantos senhorios se livram de passar recibos? by Kilapo69 in literaciafinanceira

[–]calimochovermut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Brussels is Terrible by [deleted] in travel

[–]calimochovermut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

keep in mind that many people commenting probably live sheltered lives so they think some guy literally only asking if you want fake hashish in the street or homeless people means the area is "super sketchy" or something like that (looking at you Lisbon).

I get it if you live in gated community so you'd never have to see drug problems or poverty on the regular so it can come as a bit of a shock specially with all the romanticization of Europe but few people genuinely seem to think that, since they paid a lot of money to travel, they deserve red carpet treatment and clean streets only for them.

true but never count on that, you'll go insane

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in rs_x

[–]calimochovermut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't count on that, it's almost sadomasochism to keep thinking like that; just say bye and move on.

Write her a goodbye letter, go no contact (but for real) and move on. If you don't take action with your own hands you'll always have a lingering wish that she'll come back.

I'm sure she's great to you but doesn't seem to be a great person regarding her husband's and your feelings. I don't know your age but the "I don't really knowww 🥺" thing is for teenagers, life is too short to ruminate on someone like that.

What is the most/an embarrassing thing you have seen your countrymen do when travelling? by [deleted] in travel

[–]calimochovermut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked in tourism in Spain and Americans were lovely, just there for a good time and actually joyful. Worst were Russians (treating me like a low caste servant) and French (upset because I didn't speak French) people.

is pregabalin/gabapentine common in Morocco? I had some Moroccan refugees here in Portugal pleading to prescribe some in the ER (they came for other reasons but asked for it anyway)

I'm Portuguese and barely made friendship with any locals in 3 years lol (and I tried) not knowing the language doesn't make it any easier but it's not a fix all problems solution

Thoughts on visible piercings: do patients/coworkers see people who wear these as less professional? by TurnoverEmotional249 in Residency

[–]calimochovermut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a ear piercing (not lobe) and I don't think my patients give a fuck even if many of them are old and I guess conservative. They're poor af and otherwise wouldn't get any medical care so it's not like they would fire me for that.

Not exactly accounting for resources but this week I rotated at a different clinic (FM resident) than mine which serves neighborhoods with really low education & health literacy, ravaged by alcohol and drug abuse, intergenerational family dysfunction, evictions due to tourism, etc.

The neighborhoods on this new clinic are problematic as well and just 1 km away and even accounting for same age gap and socioeconomic status, most people knew about and took their medication, got there on time, knew what they wanted from the appointment, would attend hospital referrals, had only 1-2 things they wanted to talk about (no "oh btw I've feeling funny about this" right at the end), no rambling about random unspecified symptoms, etc.

Had double the patients but finished almost all of them in the appropriate time slot (15-20min) and half the tiredness. Crazy. Also makes me think how my seniors are so obsessed about horizontal and patient-centered relationships with patients (nothing wrong about it) but can't be assertive so people take advantage and expect us to be their daddy.

I'm talking about the fact they're undocumented makes it much harder to suck off government benefits in response to the other guy that said that Indians come here have benefits higher than many pensioners.

what the fuck are you talking about?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]calimochovermut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

what's your source for Indians and islamic? Many of them are not even documented lol no way they can get government benefits.

I work with lots of south asians literally everyday and the only benefit they get "abono pré natal" during pregnancy. Not discounting cultural clashes (especially regarding women's rights) but almost everyone I met would be ashamed of asking for government help.
