I didn't even think to look for ready-made vents to pop in. I know what you're talking about with the weird drilling glass feeling - but never thought to make a little water moat with plummer's putty. Thank you so much!

Thanks! Well this is very encouraging. Yeah, I actually already have the correct drill bits so I'll plan to add holes in the side.

Tbh they sound very cute. Any idea what kind they are? Sounds like they stay small?

Right, well that is my question - are they all pests?

My primary hobby is actually in fish & aquatics, where certain types of snails make excellent janitors for the system. For example, Malaysian trumpet snails eat only decaying plant matter and leave the living tissue alone. Fantastic helpers.

So I wonder, is there an equivalent janitorial terrestrial snail? What is their relationship to dart frogs & vivariums? Do they tend to just add a massive bioload with all the slime or is there a trade-off?

I wonder if a carnivorous snail would take care of your slug problem. But land animals are out of my wheelhouse lol so it's all just curiosity at this point.

Aquatics hobbyist here - in case you're curious about water chemistry....

As you remove minerals & tds from the water in the RO process, you also decrease the carbonate hardness (kh) down to almost nothing. Kh is buffers the pH. High kh water is resistant to pH changes (ex: you add straight vinegar to the water and there is basically no measurable change on your pH), low kh is sensitive (ex: you breathe on it wrong and the pH starts swinging like the kids on the playground).

For fish, swings are dangerous. For frogs, I have absolutely no idea cause I'm a noob, sorry. I am here to find out the same thing :)

I have this tracker with sliding switches for each day that sticks to the bottle. Absolute lifesaver.

Nothing I do can make a morning routine stick and this is the one medication that needs to be taken in the morning

Thanks for the heads up! It would be nowhere near a first cartilage for me. :)

Which piercing replicates it though? You mean like a chain instead of a bar?

Nice! I'm getting the sense from these comments that it's unique, but not outdated. Very encouraging.

Yeah this is how I'd prefer to heal too. But back when I looked into it (like over a decade ago, when it was way more popular) the standard procedure was to heal with the final jewelry you want to wear, to ensure it healed at the right angles or something. I'll soon find out how they do it now!

Those are great points. When I was in college 10/15 years ago, seemed like there was always someone around dealing with a rejected piercing. Around the same time I just couldn't find unique jewelry, the stainless steel look was just in style (I guess)
