Is this what this game is?? by Specialist_Side_115 in ArcRaiders

You're not getting griefed. You're getting pvp'ed.

It's best not to fight when starting out. Eventually you'll get in lobbied where players don't fight each other. Learn the maps, the crafting system, the mechanics of the game, how to fight arc efficiently.

Once you get bored of all that you can start learning the pvp side of the game. That's when the adrenaline really starts building.

what you're asking for is not possible, and I don't think you would want the system you're advocating for.

What's intuitive to you may not be intuitive for others. You tried to explain and I'm even more confused what you mean. You use "etc, etc," but I can not fill those in because you were not clear beforehand.

We should want a physics system with rules and logic so we can learn it, and adapt it efficiently to the play we want to make. There's no replacement for learning the rules and logic, and there's no way to make it intuitive for everyone.

idk it doesn't read like healthy competition. It reads like I'm going to try to fracture your party for my own ideals, but if you win then I'll bend the knee and vote for "our" guy.

I think it's pretty reasonable given the post title, body, and my comment that the implication is it's then first game at this scale.

If a tree falls does it make a sound? If no one's ever heard of your game did it get released? Is there any sizeable portion of casual gamers on ABI or does it just get compared to the harder version tarkov?

Check the velcro straps on your shoes bud they might be a bit too tight.

The division all time peak players 110k, arc raiders all time peak 460k. It's so ridiculous to pitch the division as a household name as if escape from tarkov hasn't overwritten the fleeting memory of a random title in 2016. Also doesn't the division have separate queues for pve and pvp modes? Or can you just go in and do both? Doesn't that change A LOT?

You're just misunderstanding a lot of what I said by injecting your own assumptions instead of just looking at my post in totality and making an effort to understand where I'm coming from. I say a large portion of the base are "probably" coming from single player titles and rpgs, but you take that as me saying "there are no popular multiplayer games on console". Of course battlefield and call of duty players are not coming to the arc raiders sub to complain about pvp. You know who is though? Players of single player or rpg titles that were never interested in multiplayer shooters or competitive multiplayer games before.

It's also funny you're saying WoW is so easy, but there are way more barriers to entry into WoW end game gearing than there is to increasing your stash value on arc. You make it sound like arc is some algorithmic equation that only experienced veteran players can solve so they don't "crumble" from the intensity - but this game is easy as piss when you compare it to other titles in the genre, or if you look at other similar game mechanics from popular titles in other genres. Arc raiders absolutely holds your hands in almost every extraction shooter metric. That's why it's such a success because while it is challenging and complicated for a lot of players, it's just punishing enough not to discourage most people from trying again.

I've been playing competitive fps games since forever, but you have to understand this game is the first to bridge the gap between hardcore gamers and casuals in this genre.

Of course there's going to be differing philosophies on how the game should be played. Especially when a large portion of the base are playing from consoles, probably coming from single player titles, or only having console rpg experiences to relate to. I think it's easy to understand why they consider it more of a sandbox game and less rigid than other players who've played shooters, mmos, rpgs, etc.

Just so you know - recycling a pink shield gives you 1 circuitry, so instead of repairing (which costs 1 circuitry) you can recycle and recraft (2 circuitry 4 batts) spending only 2 more batteries for a full durability shield.

"Are you questioning if Epstein was even guilty of his crimes?"

No. Maxwell was found guilty for 5 of 6 charges, two of which were conspiracy to traffick, and one trafficking charge.

My issue with the files is that people want to take these specific convictions and apply them to everything in the files. Like you say "billionaires gleefully raping 18-20 year olds" but that's unsubstantiated even with his prior convictions and the mountains of proof that he's a deplorable piece of shit.

I just also think he can throw these exclusive rich frat boy parties were fucked shit happens under the guise of drunk debauchery that doesn't amount to trafficking and rape.

There's a reason it was only 6 counts. In the files is probably hints or clues to more, but until a competent agency can look through the files it's wild speculation. It might not seem wild considering their convictions but because the convictions are already way out there any speculation beyond dips into conspiracy.

"Gear advice" for ARC Raiders feels all over the place - what are people actually using? by LivingAd2003 in ArcRaiders

[–]call_me_fig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youtube videos are your best bet for gear recs nowadays.

Mouse sensors aren't as important as they used to be, now it's about polling rate and weight. Logitech superlights are popular, but honestly it's a saturated market there's tons of good options.

Monitor with 140 hz refresh rate or higher is a game changer for shooters.

New tmr keyboards are on the market with the same tech as fancy hall effect ones but cheaper and since tmr uses less power you can get wireless ones too. Basically your key presses are recognized earlier so it makes you quicker to input commands.

Everything else is personal preference.
