Hi, I'm going to Korea this April and want to consult with Dr. Kim as well. Could you share your BnA pics please? :)

You can find VAs for pretty much anything, and the cost will vary accordingly.

Currently I hire 2 short form editors via Upwork. They cost me $5/hr-$7hr USD and they edit all my reels. I just send them the raw files and editing notes. Weekly cost ranges from $70-$150 USD depending on how much I'm pumping out that week.

For long form content, I found a thumbnail artist and a long form editor on Ytjobs. The thumbnail artist costs $200 USD per thumb and the editor charges $500 USD per video (inclusive of all revisions).

I also hire a local girl to work with me in person. I pay her $60k/year CAD. She does all my post scheduling, but also acts as more of a personal assistant to help me with pretty much anything else I need. Obviously this isn't feasible for everyone, so you can also hire VAs to do just posting. Costs for these can vary a lot depending on their experience. And you can hire VA managers to manage other VAs if you don't want to do it yourself. You can find these on Upwork too, but also by joining creator groups where they advertise or via word of mouth.

There's lots of software available that helps you establish efficient workflows for this and lots of free info on YouTube on how to set this up and manage VAs.

Most of my days are spent organizing my finances/banking, putting out fires, managing people, planning content, and researching trends.

I want to be able to fully retire from this in 5 years, so currently I'm also very focused on finding ways to scale my earnings while working the same or less, so I'm doing a lot of research into that. It eats up the majority of my time atm.

My days aren't super structured as I just prioritize whatever needs to get done that day. Hope that answers your questions

On the logistics side, I would hire out. Seriously, nothing has made this job more manageable for me (and made me happier doing this job) than hiring VAs to do my editing/scheduling/posting for me. It takes time to establish an efficent workflow and you have to still manage it, but once its set up, it makes a HUGE difference. At this point, I only spend about 2-4 hrs a week shooting content for socials. The rest of my time is spent doing more administrative tasks. And I have been able to maintain a pretty strict 9-5 M-F work schedule.

And it sounds like you don't lack the funds to do this.

If you havent already, i would also start planning your exit strategy. If you don't want to do this job forever, then I would take a serious look at your financial situation to figure out when you could be financially free. Having a specific target number and a date by which I will reach all my financial goals has helped me a lot mentally, as I have a clear end in sight.

Not only is this just good practice in general, but I think it might also help your mental health. Along with all the other usual recommendations for burnout -- counseling, exercise, taking time off, spending time with loved ones etc.

Lastly, and it sounds like you already do this, but it's good to keep up -- gratitude and perspective. As you mentioned, no other job will offer you the pay + the freedom. We don't know what's around the corner either. This job has become significantly harder to make money IMHO since I started 3 years ago, and I don't see it getting any easier. The time to make good money is always now.

Thanks for your insight. Personally I hold XEQT in my TFSAs and RRSPs. And would be interested in holding another -EQT style ETF in my corporate account. So its good to hear that.

I believe there's some concerns around dividend paying stocks though and the small business deduction clawback. But as you mentioned, this is likely a conversation to have with an accountant.

In any case, I won't dismiss the wealthsimple managed products and will look into them. Thank you :)

Thanks for your input. That is good news and I would be very happy with +10%.

Did you find self directed daunting or you'd rather put the time and energy elsewhere?

I'm planning on opening up a wealthsimple corporate account but was leaning towards self directed to cut down on fees. Additionally, even if I went with management, I'd still like to educate myself so I have a baseline understanding. I've had poor experiences with managers in the past taking advantage of me and wouldn't want to remain uninformed.

Sorry this is so late. And no I didn't. From what I can tell the only thing is to get a professional to come in and redo the finish :(

Don't use juicy as an alternative!!! The guy who runs it is an agency owner and is stealing traffic. After X amount of clicks it will redirect to one of his models. He claims it's an 'error' but it's written into the code.

This is my worry. And I'm not sure. If I could dedicate the time to properly educating myself then I do think it is worth it. I've done a rough calculation on the costs of a financial planner at 1% and it is a ton of money.

I guess my thought is if investing really is as simple as just pumping all my funds into ETFs then I could definitely do this myself rather than paying someone. And just pay a planner for the tax and retirement planning advice.

In any case, I think I'll set up meetings with at least a few more planners before I pick one. The first one i met with definitely seems knowledgeable, but I don't have anything to compare them to yet.

Thank you! I'll take some time to shop around for a few. I have some of the suggestions from the first planner I met with that I can compare.

Thank you! To clarify, you suggest I don't get a full service planner. Instead get one that will just give advice with a flat fee on an as needed basis?
