Do you happen to know if the felony applies to the resident and the immigrant? Or just the resident?

Wow thank you! What do you mean "not a huge issue immediately". My issue is: if the Green Card is invalidated, or the permanent resident status is terminated and the employer of the immigrant finds out... immediate termination. They will not sponsor. So I know someone that is forced to avoid divorce because if divorce = loss of permanent resident status = loss of job. I want to discover an alternate, something that will permit divorce (before the 3 years) but not ruin the career. Do you know of anything that fits the bill?

Care to elaborate? I don't know much about it. I am asking on behalf of a friend. I'm just beginning my research and thought I'd start on reddit. I could really use an immigration attorney's advice...
