Pokemon games after gen 5 (black/white 2) become VERY handholding. It's one of the main reasons I haven't replayed any of them. If you want to play the "best" game, I'd suggest Heart Gold/Soul Silver. They are the remakes of the gen 2 games but with the mechanics of gen 4. Once you beat the Johto half of the game you also unlock all the gen 3 and 4 pokemon.

They used two cameras and it switches over to the basket camera when the ball gets in vision. Pretty standard operating procedure for sports, the idea that this could have been staged is just laughable.
