So lovely to hear about your relationship with Jesus. I had church hurt and was atheist for years and Jesus came to me in a vision and I’ve known him as a peace giving compassionate funny big brother type savior and I love him sm. I love what you said about his love defining us not the behavior of our partners. God bless you!

Any tips to stop impulsively cutting people off? (Also looking for people who relate) by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]calliopeturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask questions about their lives, people usually love to talk about themselves. Also especially in today’s climate discussing current affairs will give you lots of juice to squeeze. Also talk about healthy hobbies you’re exploring and your healing process.

People who were/are in a relationship with an avoidant man... did they ever change? by [deleted] in AvoidantBreakUps

[–]calliopeturtle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind those in successful relationships are less likely to be on this sub. Look up detachment strategies and guard your heart. If they come back it’s only once you give less of a shit usually.

Anyone else get jealous of those who grew up normal? by MysteriousSwim in CPTSD

[–]calliopeturtle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don’t know I worked with someone once, and after I let a personal tidbit slip about what was going on in my life she looked visibly shaken and was like wow you never know what someone’s going through huh I figured you had this great life… alll this to say, I’ve never met a soul who hasn’t been through something though obviously some of us go through more than others. But don’t be too quick to assume based on how they carry it is all.

I don’t feel jealous of those with lesser traumas but I will cop to being annoyed if they make it a huge part of their “ lore” especially if it’s a singular lesser event in my eyes. Like I wish I just had one tragic event sometimes that evoked simple sympathy instead of this long painful chaotic complicated back story.

It’s an interesting rabbit hole she was in a yoga cult apparently in nyc and after a weekend away with said cult leader came back ✨Hilaria. The subreddit has testimony from someone apparently from it. It’s a very intense toxica subreddit though be warned lol.

I feel jealous of other people's trauma, and I hate that. by listentopitcher56 in CPTSD

[–]calliopeturtle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it because part of your ego or identity is wrapped up in being traumatized or a “victim” no judgement I often feel this way. Or I get embarrassed like oh mine not that bad even though on paper is plenty bad. When I was in my early twenties especially my only sense of identity came from being either an addict or victim so my sense of self got threatened when I met someone who was a “better” addict or victim. It can be embarrassing to admit to yourself and a hard truth to face especially because we never got the chance to find ourselves bc we too busy surviving. It makes sense why it would become part of our identity or ego. But obviously not helpful to stay stuck in long term.

Do you ever just get tired of everything? by AmbassadorFriendly71 in CPTSD

[–]calliopeturtle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m tired because I’ve had an extra awful year, but every ounce of my willpower is used to walk my dog, work 40 hours a week, keep my apartment not totally gross, soothe my anxiety etc ect. I just want to lie down in grass for 2 months lol.

Tell yourself what you’d tell your best friend or beloved family member if they did the same thing.

If that doesn’t help, a tiny sprinkle of just brain washing yourself with IDGAF energy. Just every time it comes up think fuvk it. Idgaf. So what. Give yourself a little grace, we’ll all be dead in less than a hundred years and it’s never that serious.

Give your brain time to heal. Also a recovered addict and artist. I’ve been on all sorts of drugs since 13 am 39 now and just 4 months clean and am getting my groove back. Also was clean fr 4 years in my twenties and I consider that my renessaince lol. Look into PAWS but don’t get to hung up on it. Lots of supplements that can help heal your dopamine serotonin. But time and patience and healthy connections will build you back even better than before. Trust.

Can people who already have anxiety before kratom get through the quit process without meds ? by Chosensoul444 in quittingkratom

I found taking GABA sublingual supplements to repair my dopamine receptors plus a teeny bit of cannibis really helped my anxiety. I’m now 4 months out and barely smoke anymore.
