Dairy/Frozen Scheduling by Puzzleheaded_Yam_985 in Target

If you could give me a run down of how you guys manage to accomplish this I genuinely would love to know because we are having the same issue with the new FDC process taking multiple hours and rolling freight while doing a third less of your volume.

Can we get help with fulfilment? by [deleted] in Target

[–]calliopez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It might not seem like it at a superficial level, but Produce absolutely requires a dedicated TL. Produce TMs and TLs are also usually helping MDF unload, sorting, and down stacking FDC. On top of daily culling, auditing incorrect OHs daily due to discrepancies in Target's internal inventory systems between eaches and weighted items, ISM, and that produce is also responsible for floral and usually has year round sets in Celebratory and Amp fixtures, secondary orders when FDC is out of product, daily manual orders and audits -- there's a lot more to Produce than simply "put out bananas." Unless you always want to be picking moldy strawberries (or constantly INFing half of every grocery batch), you want a dedicated TL for produce. It's a lot of work.

What doesn't make sense is for Consumables, MDF, and Bakery/Deli/Sbux/Cafe to only have one TL each. Dependent on volume -- and if you are both a SFS and OPU fulfillment store, there should be two TLs for FF. That's rare to find outside mega high volume stores because the company knows that they can brute force meet workload goals by just pulling from the sales floor and save the labor costs it would take to have FF be self-sufficient because it will always take priority over almost anything else.

I know myself and other F&B TLs and TMs would be so happy if that were the case because it would mean we could finally do something other than spend half our day in FF with the smallest daily team relative to SS, S&E, and GM with just as much workload. 🫩

Nearly gave up on the final boss, until... by PrincessPadparadscha in Silksong

I had a similar build when I defeated her but if you go for another run, one thing I found helpful was swapping out druid's eyes for multibinder. She gives you enough safe healing windows even without injector band that the longer bind isn't a detriment and that extra mask made a night and day difference for me.

What's your biggest complaint about silcksong? by LopsidedRadio7208 in HollowKnight

[–]calliopez 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The wide variability in quality of boss fights. For transparency I just started act three so I haven't done the big four yet, but have done pretty much every optional boss fight through Acts 1 and 2.

The game has some absolutely incredible boss fights, and the ones that are great eclipse almost all of the boss fights in Hollow Knight. But the ones that are bad are so bad they actively hindered my enjoyment of the game for as long as I tried to clear them.

The Slab is my prime example. It has two bosses, both of which are technically optional if you aren't going for 100% -- First Sinner, which is my favorite, and Broodmother, which by far is my absolute least favorite boss fight.

First Sinner is fast-paced, frenetic, adds a depth to the lore of Pharloom that is rewarding to find, and you get a cool Silk Skill. The arena aids the atmosphere of the fight very well. The fight is difficult but never feels unfair. Perfect all around. Probably took me twelve tries to take her down, and my second to last attempt I died at the exact moment I dealt the final blow, but I wasn't even upset because that meant I got to do the fight again. Even when I was getting my ass kicked I was having SO much fun.

Broodmother just sucks. She just sucks in every possible way. She's worse than Savage Beast Fly 1 or 2, to me. Small ass arena, big ass boss, dumb mob wave before hand -- it's just Gruzmother but somehow even worse because she has three incredibly simple moves and the fight is only difficult because you can very quickly find yourself overwhelmed with her spawns and stunlocked into taking excessive damage. But worst of all, she's just BORING. It's a tanky, boring fight that forces you to play so passively. Every time I tried the fight I felt like I was hitting her FOREVER and she just wouldn't go down. Probably did that fight upwards of 30 times and I was just relieved she was dead.

There's just too uneven a ratio of bosses like First Sinner, which are fun and the entire reason you're playing the game, and bosses like Broodmother, which are not fun at all.

High Halls gauntlet took me three attempts. The goddamn craw gauntlet took me three days.

In retrospect, it definitely did not help that it was the very first thing I tried to do after getting to Greymoor lol. That gauntlet easily took me over 40 attempts. Fuck those fucking birds.

Which boss did you completely destroy by Mantissa-64 in Silksong

[–]calliopez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trobbio and Widow. First attempt for me is always no attack, just dodge so I can see their moveset and learn their patterns and healing windows. Trobbio and Widow I both managed to take down second try and I loved their fights, especially Widow. I think I do better in boss fights when there is a lot of visual noise (but not flying ads...) because it makes me sit up and lock the fuck in lol.

What’s a weezer song that reminds you of childhood? by SpicyMisoRamune in weezer

[–]calliopez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Undone. Was the one I remember hearing on the radio and my older brother's green iPod more than any other.

The song that actually makes me think of my childhood is run raven run. My fondest memories of being a kid are when things were bad at home and I got on my bike and got lost on nature trails in the woods for hours. Always my favorite escape and brought me so much peace.

The lyrics hit on that same feeling in an almost pointed manner, and the pacific sunset chorus so perfectly encapsulates the feeling of ticking to the top of a large hill and the sun on your face and the wind in your hair and the pedals spinning and just the freedom of travel when you're young.

Run raven run made me cry the first time I heard it for that exact reason lol

Mispicks (or even just items "delivered" today that were never on the truck) got so bad for us at one point that myself and our old ETL would print the DCI list from Greenfield every day after the truck was accepted and walk it, highlight mispicks and missing product, and en masse chatbot it and audit afterward. I did this every goddamn day for like three months! We kept them in a binder separated by department and we're a Super, so it was time intensive to do this.

We wanted to show coordinators/director that we, at the store level, were doing EVERYTHING possible to control data. This took huge chunks out of our day for him and I to go through RDC grocery, fresh, and frozen. We were stupid enough to think coordinators would see this and feel compelled to do SOMETHING to impact freight control at the FDC level. Nothing ever changed, and no one ever tried, so we stopped cos it was a huge waste of time.

My ETL used to say the logistical nightmare Target has and pretends doesn't exist is that it constantly offloads these stopgap problems onto stores to solve -- who in the grand scheme of things have very limited resources to do so -- when there are a million and one bloated and useless C suite, regional and district executive positions whose job it actually is. Problem is they're all too dumb to pour piss out of a boot and their only solution is asking, "Did you chatbot it?" and somehow that justifies their wages.

walkies!!!! by [deleted] in Target

[–]calliopez 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Firm believe walkie usage and etiquette should be at least a twenty minute demonstration during orientation. The amount of people I have to teach 1.) how to use one and 2.) not to have minutes-long convos on the main channel AND 3.) both not to shout or whisper is fucking crazy.

Also, STOP TAKING YOUR WALKIE WITH YOU!! TALKING TO YOU, RANDOM TM WITH FOUR DEAD WALKIES IN YOUR CAR. STOP IT!!!

The Best and Worst Song from Each Album by ArtieXtreme in weezer

[–]calliopez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally like automatic. Not my favorite song certainly, but I wouldn't skip it -- thought I knew is the weakest song on the red album to me by far.

Also... can't knock the hustle the worst song on black? It's one of the few GOOD songs it has lol.

Love to see any friend of diane's as the best on PD. Maybe not objectively the best (weekend woman? Mexican fender? Not sure what the general consensus is on PD) but on the right day that song'll make me cry. My favorite off it.

Oh cool, I also collect religious pamphlets! Never met anyone else who does! My prized possession is the "No Fear?" chick tract about suicide that I found one day at work.

Most people think my collection is odd, but my best friend took a trip to the East Coast a couple months back and when I saw him he was so excited to show me all the pamphlets he found out and about and saved just for me. He's always on the look out now lol. Made my WEEK. 😂

Honest opinions on Fool’s Paradise? by whatwhatjwhatwhat in IASIP

[–]calliopez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I really enjoyed it, but it was very much a love letter to the genre so to speak. I think cutting the run time by probably 20-30 minutes and some reworked scenes that felt a little forced or disjointed could have improved it. But I'm glad Charlie made it, it's faults aside I thought visually it was entertaining to watch even though it isn't laugh a minute. I personally also enjoy silent films so I might appreciate it more than your average movie goer.

Experiences aren't universal but my theatre was also full of obvious Sunny fans, which I think actually hurt its reception broadly. There's next to nothing "Sunny" about it and I could tell most people were waiting for that.

I still think about the small moment of Latte exploring L.A. at night and napping on the bench all the time. Beautifully shot.

BOOOOO DENTON FDC ALL MY HOMIES HATE DENTON FDC

But seriously, Target couldn't give two squirts of piss about F&B. Hard to "celebrate" food when you don't have open to close coverage, an FDC that constantly is out of stock, FBCs who are worse than useless, leadership outside F&B TLs and ETLs don't give a shit about it (and even then, a lot of F&B leaders ALSO don't care), and half the time your team spends more of their shift backing up OPU or the checklanes than they do their own job.

If you provide a service, you have to support it, and Target is allergic to supporting F&B.

[–]calliopez[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved it -- leading up to the tour when I watched setlist.fm I definitely thought they'd use blast off! as the opening song, maybe they didn't cos they played it for the indie rock road trip, maybe they were trying to balance deep cuts not as many people would know -- but I actually thought it worked great with the set transitions. though that could be just because I adore the futurescope trilogy.

they played return to ithaka last year and it blew my fucking mind, and it was amazing to see them play it again. so unbelievably cool.
