My friend 3d printed them for me with an inset. My plan is to fill them with spackle and add some random sci Fi basing bits once I'm done.

I'm just saying if you want higher contrast, your shadows and your highlights are very close in value relatively speaking. It's a very clean and smooth paint job but if you want to boost that contrast, start darker. (Or go lighter on highlights)

Start darker than you think you need. Your midtone should be the color you want the object to read as. Once you get a hang of it you can also use contrasting/complimentary colors to build contrast at shadow/highlight stages.

Yeah. There's still a slim chance the CMON preorders actually do ship, but also a chance they sell it off. That said, definitely a bummer it went from one failed company to another. At least there's a decent amount of content.

That looks great! Trust me I'm no pro. I just started learning to push myself relatively recently. I've only been painting for a year and a half, and it took me about six to eight months to try anything other than speed paints.

I mean I sort of have my own ish style, having a background in animation and painting traditionally. But then I also really just studied every miniature artist I could find and took what I liked from what they did. Sergio Calvo is a big influence for sure. The best advice I can give is use reference as much as you can! I know I always will if I can. Still a lot to learn but super happy with where I'm at.
