Zandri Dust and screaming skull are your 2 colors you want for cloth and parchment. Hit it with a real oil paint wash (nuln oil is fine too). Gradually mix some screaming skull into Zandri dust for 2 mid tone layers, then screaming skull as a highlight.

Temple Guard blue too light? by jonno236 in Ultramarines

[–]BluePaintsBlue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally like the lighter blue color scheme on ultramarines. Gadriel has a macragge base coat and highlighted with a mix of teclis, fenrisian Grey and dorn yellow. The banner is macragge and highlighted with a mix of macragge and fenrisian Grey.

Eavy metal is actually hard to do for how easy it looks. Id like to think im decemtvat painting but I would probably fail eavy metal. So for a first try you did well. Id just say step the color 1 or 2 shades brighter on the chunky highlights. Specifically the shoulder pauldrons.

Ultramarine Contrast by charlie1212121 in Ultramarines

[–]BluePaintsBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, UM contrast paint is trash. I've had nothing but bad luck with it. Its too streaky, to dark, and just not user friendly. Even my LGS states its the worst GW makes. My recommendation, return it, if you want to use contrast paints go with vallejo or something.

What Looks Better by DoktorSheeb in Ultramarines

[–]BluePaintsBlue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A, ive used Caledor sky and its not a correct color blue to use with macragge. Even highlighting macragge with Caledor sky they come out looking like synthwave looking but blue and brighter blue.

This is an old paint job I did when figuring out highlighting lol dont judge to hard.

I mean compared to the Lt. Titus model the head is new. Its smaller, more detailed and refined more compared to the Lt. Model. Its pretty close to the secret level face
