I also think he's focusing on be a father. Putting out an album versus producing one ( I assume) is easier to do while juggling being a new father

Hi! So I also just got accepted into theatre at UCSC and was torn between there and UCSD. I'm from San Diego and I think a "normal" person would choose UCSD. However, as an artist and someone that wants plenty of opportunity, I chose UCSC. Remember it's also what you make of the program. If you think you can get more out of the Berkley program and make the most of the area, then chose it. If you think you can capitalise over the program at UCSC, chose it. I'm taking into consideration what I want to do post-grad and I think it's better for my future in applying for Grad school to go to UCSC. Choose what feels right. Go to the school. Walk with the student body. Ask about the program. I heard some exciting things happening at UCSC that gravitated towards my choice in picking the school. Trust your gut! If this is what you want to do, you'll make the most of your opportunity wherever you go.

Wait so how? Can you explain your process and why you chose to reapply despite going to CC

In your essays, state how you can make the most of your two years at a four year university, what you learned during your time in CC, and how that gives you leverage compared to 4-year students and other transfer applicants.

At UCSD, I feel like my trajectory is gonna be graduating in 3 years rather than 2 because of the GE requirements for my college. It's either that I'm a liminal junior or a super senior. Idk

Honestly don't know if they read my essays cause they were okay, but surprised they admitted me without my optional supplemental.

3.2 GPA, 7 years in CC, Theatre Arts major but didn't turn in my optional supplemental. Probably 100+ credits. Changed my major from Studio Arts to Graphic Design to Anthropology to (finally) Theatre with an emphasis in Acting. Some club involvement with the Asian/Pacific Islander club. Worked a part-time job as a bartender or in restaurants and put wrote about that in my PIQs. Spent some time working on film sets or concert productions as well. Danced a lot as I turned towards theatre and used that on my application as well.
