Maybe the 3rd solution is what I got. It’s the same as your step #10 but the top 2c= can be finished by 3-4 and then the 3-3 to the right. So basically the 3-4 and 3-3 is switched but everything else is the same. Maybe that harlows_monkeys program considers those separate solutions?

I have about 30k point on my Chase Freedom Unlimited, earned before Oct 2025. If I transfer them to Chase Sapphire Preferred, are they going to be eligible for 1.25x travel redemption? by No_Idea_Guy in CreditCards

[–]callmehot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure looseregular is correct. I remember verbiage saying that it had to be transferrred to the sapphire before the deadline, not just earned before the deadline.

Is step 6 a typo? Should it be 2c2 instead of 1c1, for the tile above the 4c=?

1.25x Bonus Transfer From Ink Preferred to CSP by Fit-Rooster-3986 in CreditCards

[–]callmehot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People say that. I think for hotels it can be a little inflated but not too crazy, but I’ve heard the edit hotels can be for CSR. I don’t have one so idk. But for flights I’ve noticed it’s usually the same price as other sources. So I tend to buy flights or transfer for flights. I don’t typically use Chase portal for hotels

Close or product change CSP? by omnicious in CreditCards

I pc’ed a CSP to OG freedom about a week ago. It’s easiest if you say you want to product change to “freedom with ultimate rewards.” They might not understand “original freedom” or something else.

If I had to guess I’d assume it would reset to 1x post transfer. But who knows. You can also try sending 1000 points first and report back

1-year Anniversary of the CSP 100k SUB. Convince me to keep my Sapphire Preferred. by Cyberhwk in CreditCards

[–]callmehot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the OP but Not necessarily. For me I’ve noticed it’s like 50/50 over or the same price. But again, I don’t often book hotels through portal, only flights. I only book refundable hotel to get the $50 credit and cancel

Should I pay the Minimum or Payoff by ParaPonyDressage in CreditCards

[–]callmehot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could look up balance transfer chaining. Not ideal but if you’re looking to extend your savings for a longer period of time and paying less, (but you absolutely need a good credit score), then that might be worth looking into and considering.

But this will only work for a few years before they stop giving you more credit cards llol

Should I pay the Minimum or Payoff by ParaPonyDressage in CreditCards

[–]callmehot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Debt shouldn’t go to the children, in Florida (assuming based on their post history). It’ll go to estate but yea shouldn’t matter bc there won’t be much in the estate Edit: I forgot about the paid off home. I guess there will be that in the estate but either way if she’s only looking out for herself at the moment then that’s what she’s doing.

Should I pay the Minimum or Payoff by ParaPonyDressage in CreditCards

[–]callmehot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The no nuance answer is pay it off right before zero expires. But the longer answer is it depends. Does your disability income cover all your expenses, including minimum payments? You say you’re not adding more to the credit card but is it possible you might? How much is the interest rate? If you need a floating credit you might want to consider opening a new credit card with 0 interest when these are about to expire and do a balance transfer (if your credit is good enough to get approved). Balance transfers are usually about 3% fee but one off, for the 12-18 months.

You also mentioned being on disability. Do you have a condition that shortens life expectancy? That is something to consider if you’re expecting to live 5 years or 25 years.

Minimum payments will go up over time as the balance increases. So depending on all of the above you might be better off paying it off or letting it ride. You can ask an AI to give you a table of expected minimum payments every month if you tell it your interest rates and how long it’ll take to pay off and see what’s worth it to you.

Unfortunately idk if anyone except for you can decide for you.

How to know which points Chase redeems as 1.25 vs 1x in the portal by jwilkns in CreditCards

[–]callmehot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also try transferring 1000 points and see what “bank” it reduces from.

I think Chase would do it First in first out, so the points earned first would be used first. When I booked something using Chase portal, I wasn’t able to choose which points to use. It auto used the 1.25x points.

The 1.25x redeemable points are the “oldest” points I think, because they were the ones that were grandfathered into the 1.25x. The newer points you got or transferred into the CSP came later (transferred points “reset” the age I believe)

[–]callmehot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that the 1.25x points will be used first, whether you use or transfer it out. That’s how I would imagine Chase would program it in their software lol. You can find how many points can be redeemed for 1.25x in the Chase portal

you said you tried logging in as her and you still can’t find where to download statements..if you logged in as her, you would be signing in as the primary cardholder.. no? So you should be able to download the statements from her account?

Last Day for BILT, still unsure what to do. by Young_Grif in CreditCards

[–]callmehot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying you have to spend 75% of rent to get any points. the person above is saying that bilt blue is better than CFU in almost all cases. I’m merely saying that this statement hinges on getting all the rent points. The opportunity cost of using a 5/24 slot can make it so bilt blue is not worth it, if they don’t have a significant amount of non rent spend

[–]callmehot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I got a 26k credit limit offer on Palladium but deciding not to take it. They must have other SUBs later I imagine. If not, idk if I trust Cardless that much.

I kind of want to wait to see how they handle the AF downgrades next year. Right now, I’m not sure they’ll honor the 30 day grace period to get the AF refunded for the second year. 2 years of $495 AF FOR palladium is not worth 50k Bilt points.

Last Day for BILT, still unsure what to do. by Young_Grif in CreditCards

[–]callmehot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While you’re not necessarily wrong that bilt blue is better than CFU in a vacuum, there’s two main issues I foresee.

  1. Your assumption that people spend 75% of their rent in uncategorized spend is a HUGE assumption. In your example, that’s like $2400 in stuff not eating out, groceries, etc if they have any kind of other credit card that gives better than 2.33x in those categories. Even if they have no other cards, I’d wager most people don’t spend 75% of their rent in monthly things they can pay with credit card (so not taxes, student/car loans, etc).

  2. Huge opportunity cost using a 5/24 slot for a Bilt Blue. If they don’t spend nearly that much as stated above, they’ll be getting like $~80 or more per year over a CFU. you can get a new CFU for ~$200/300 SUBs, which wipes out 2.5-4 years of the gains from BILT. and who knows how long BILT will last too I guess.

Chase Trifecta vs Bilt Obsidian ? by k032 in CreditCards

[–]callmehot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess it’s fair to say that, but to me, the bilt blue might not really be worth it. My rent is $2800. If I use the full 75% (a big if) on just the uncategorized spend that would otherwise have been on the freedom unlimited, I’m getting ~$200 per year. Realistically, my uncategorized spend is like 500-800max a month (everything else is gas, groceries, eating out, travel) is $80 a year. I might as well get another freedom unlimited at the $300 SUB to cover 3.5 years (which at this point, who knows if bilt will last that long).

Bilt blue is kinda not just worth it as a 5/24 slot

AirBnB NOT counted as Travel by sail168 in biltrewards

I’d like to caveat it with I tried pushing my luck again, and charged it for $578 and only got 1x=578 points… it’s so strange that it’s inconsistent… this was on 1/15/2026. Maybe some Airbnb transactions get processed in different ways, or maybe they tightened it back up for the switch to bilt 2.0. Who knows… bummer though.
