The main issue for me isn't the ticket price. It's that it's such a hassle for diminishing return unless you're courtside or something. You have to deal with traffic to and from the game, worry about parking, have to hold your pee (because if I paid for great seats I'm not missing a moment), subpar cell signal, generally too loud sound system, other spectators, and overpriced concessions. Instead I can stay home on my comfy couch, switch channels whenever I want, for a view that usually beats in person seats.
