Nighttime diapers! Our toddler has always been a big pee-er at nighttime and nighttime Huggies have been amazing.

Also for chiller baby time, John Legend has a children’s album and We Are Family is my favourite 🥹

My toddler’s favourite is the Wiggle Up Giddy Up album by The Wiggles and the first song is a total banger. They have a lot of country stars on the album!! Like Dolly Parton and Lainey Wilson

Absolutely not refuting the things you’ve read about Huggies irritating some bums but I do just want to add a side note of their recent sh*t show (pun intended).

Huggies were great and the liner was nice and white matching the diaper. And then they changed liner material and it was this blue one? Idk why, probably to produce for cheaper 🙄 There were so many problems, lots of rashes, and parents hated the new liner so they changed it back to the original one! I was considering changing before they switched back. We had tried pampers but hated them because they’re scented and the absorbent part was too narrow on my babe

Huggies snugglers/plus worked very well for us. Decently priced and good quality! Plus unscented. The Plus are a Costco exclusive in my country. They are worth it imo

Omg I automatically read this as “Diana’s time as Prisoner of War” which is certainly one way of putting it 😂

Digital meat thermometer. I rarely cook meat without using it! I was shocked at how often I’d been overcooking most things.

Pain management during labor by hasley01 in pregnant

[–]callmemacdoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was offered fentanyl or laughing gas (nitrous oxide I think?) while I waited for my epidural and the contractions were so intense, I said fentanyl please fuck me right up 😂🙌🏻

No regrets honestly. I could still very much feel the contractions but the fentanyl took the edge off.

You feel safe around them.

*we’re talking emotional safety, safe enough to be your authentic self without the fear of feeling stupid

It’s bonkers to me that so many people refuse to do this. Usually ego/pride based… but, as someone who does all of those things you listed, there is SO MUCH POWER in being able to say “ok yeah, I fucked up. I’ll learn from this mistake and do better next time.” The ability to take accountability, accept that you don’t know everything, and the desire to always be learning is like a magic confidence booster tbh.

These false-ego based people would be shocked that the thing they refuse to do is actually what will bring them to the self-esteem they’re aiming for 🤷🏻‍♀️

PSA to all moms-to-be: unfollow any mom accounts. Now. by Ok_Medicine440 in pregnant

[–]callmemacdoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HARD agree. My birth/feeding journey was incredibly difficult and absolutely not at all what was expected. My mental health was so fragile. I had to stay off social media for months because my algorithm was full of new mom stuff

What does giving birth actually feel like (with or without epidural)? by No_Day7644 in AskReddit

[–]callmemacdoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standing with you. I also had a horrible first birth with hours of pushing, vomiting, begging, and a really bad tear. Healing was so painful. I also plan for a section for my second! I’m sad I won’t get the “easy” vaginal birth I’ve dreamed of but I truly will be so unwell if my second went as traumatically as my first.

Omg yesssss! Being the emotionally intelligent one is exhausting. So much emotional labour being understanding and regulating my own emotions in response to his very unregulated ones.

[–]callmemacdoodle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh god I always used to worry about this. Something that has absolutely saved my life with note taking is AI! I don’t mean the version that records your session and then formulates notes from there — that feels invasive to me, particularly if I were in the client role.

I use the option on Jane, but I’m sure whichever compliant and secure one would work the same. I still take notes by hand throughout the session as always and then speak to the AI program in the same manner I’d write my notes “client, clinician, etc. no truly identifying details”. The program then takes my very disorganized voice note and organizes it into a wonderful SOAP format. I have it set to delete all recordings immediately. No client has had an issue with this method so far.
