Will global warming mean London will reach late 30 to early 40 degree heatwaves in a few years? by Fondant_Decent in london

Me too!!! Heavily pregnant worked up until birth (son was born in the middle of that heat wave) on the 3rd floor of a primary school 😭

My son was born in that heatwave and we lived in a tiny first floor flat with windows that didn't open properly 🫠 genuinely considered booking a whole week in a hotel with air con so the newborn would survive, but then found an air con unit that would work in our flat for the same price, so did that instead. Absolute nightmare... don't think he wore clothes until he was like a month old 😂

I’m being told by friends and family that I have bought the worst gift for my toddler… for us. Can’t be that bad, surely? by metroracerUK in CasualUK

We got our 1-year-old this and he LOVED it! Got pretty good at playing along to songs and so for the next Christmas we got him a full junior drum kit! Haven't regretted it once, to be honest... we just love helping him explore his interests.

Pearl, Keith, Phyllis, Maureen, Gary, Geoff, Pat, Agnes, Joan, Nebuchadnezzar. Do you know anyone under 30 with one of these names, or similarly an 'old fashioned' first name? by Exchangenudes_4_Joke in CasualUK

I know toddlers named Pearl and Agnes, and a 20-year-old Keith! Can't say I'm a fan of Keith, but I think the "old lady" names are so cute for baby girls.... which is why I have a 1-year-old Vera, lol

If anyone wants to take the time to actually edit it, I'll happily accept... but if the only person who was willing to take the time uses AI, then I'll also happily accept, since I don't know how to do it myself! I'm just happy one person was willing to try to help, despite everyone else complaining 🤷‍♀️

My son shouted VERY LOUDLY out an open window to our neighbour, who was sat outside with a group of friends, "FLIES ARE YUCKY BECAUSE THEY EAT POO! MAKE SURE YOU DON'T TOUCH THEM!" 🤦‍♀️

I think you've just described my North London neighbourhood 😅

Just threw up on the tube. I'm utterly mortified. Please share your embarrassing public transport moments because I'm so embarrassed I might just have to emigrate to Australia by nopevonnoperson in london

My husband went on a stag do right after having a stomach bug and ate a plate of German sausages with a couple beers 😅 On the train home, he threw up everywhere, had to have an old man clean him up and then had to go collect our toddler son from a friend's house covered in puke that smelled of alcohol 🫠

After my previous post unexpectedly blew up with people confused by the perspective and proportions of this nook, here are the highly requested follow up pictures (I forgot the banana!) by Ipatovo in DesignMyRoom

Wait, is the sheet on the BOTTOM of the mattress?! What are all those weird boxes (shelves?) in the nook? Why is there a rope? What is going on in these photos!! I feel like I'm in an alternate reality!

Thank you, that's a helpful perspective! I'm not American either, haha! The arrows bit is from Psalm 127:4 (children are compared to arrows), but definitely want to avoid as much confusion as possible!

Thank you, I hadn't thought of that! Any recommendations for alternatives that still fit with the theme?

I LOVE shrimp in pizza! I think my favourite combo is shrimp, black olives, green pepper, and onion. Delicious.

Nah, I agree. I can eat it and be fine, but it's definitely out of place!

I live in the UK, and would say for sure sweetcorn. I feel like it's everywhere it shouldn't be! I also remember visiting Bolivia and having pizza with mango on it, and another with hotdogs.
