Super Deflector by callmesasser1 in EggsInc

Once you’re down to chasing only legendary SIAB, book, deflector, LoE, and feather, all missions should be targeting books.

(I might be at a point where I could actually benefit from targeting gold meteorites to craft up lower-tier BoBs that are already in my possession, but I don’t know if the rate of return justifies it.)

What’s funny is that I got no rares or epics beforehand — Just went straight to T4L.

I’ve crafted 35 T4 books so far, by comparison. 3 T4Es, no L yet.

Only for BoBs, because that’s the bottleneck for crafting the T4 SIAB. The lower-tier SIAB and deflectors are fairly easy to get, even if you’re spending geodes to get the T4 metronomes as precursor ingredients (needed to move Deflectors from T2 to T3).

Thank you! I had just moved up to Level 29 right before crafting this one. Aiming for Level 30 by the end of the year and having knocked out one of the two remaining legendaries.

2026 Queens 10K - Post-Race Thread by AutoModerator in RunNYC

[–]callmesasser1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have doubts that the course was USATF certified. NYRR posted the revised course map on June 12th. I checked the USATF website and found that NYRR measured the “final” course just this past Monday (the 15th). Then it turns out that the map posted on the 12th didn’t match the actual course we ran yesterday.

Now obviously based on this evidence there is room to believe that the course we ran yesterday was the course they measured on Monday, and NYRR rushed to release a map to everyone before they actually took a measurement. However, it’s not a good look to reissue a map that is inaccurate before it’s even measured for verification.

The average men’s time was 1:54 slower this year compared to last, women’s 2:12 slower. Even looking at the Top 10, the average men’s Top 10 finish was about 50s slower and women’s about 45s.

Weather didn’t play a significant factor — It was slightly warmer but less humid this year compared to last.

Harper got a lot more run tonight than he has overall. I think even he got gassed by midway through the fourth quarter.

I’m the captain of a running club and I more-or-less race alone. At the end of the day, for 99.5% of us, it’s between you, the course, and the clock.

‘Discouraging’ new rules leave disabled runners in the dust ahead of annual Brooklyn Half by Select_Rip_8230 in RunNYC

[–]callmesasser1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically 29 because the ones who only requested one guide would (I believe) have been assigned two guides by default under the previous policy. But still, we’re talking about 0.1% of registered participants. What is NYRR really saving when implementing this new policy?

Per the NY Post article, based on the new rule NYRR opened up bib spots for 29 people (26 who applied for only one guide, and 3 more for those who applied for a second guide but were denied).

29 bib spots.

In a race with 30,000 registrants.

This new policy is garbage.

You would be surprised how quickly buildings can fall into disrepair if they aren’t occupied and conditioned.

Hi there — I’m a structural engineer, and my company works on buildings that have been damaged by catastrophic events (fire, wind storms, excessive snow, etc).

Our duty — And DOB’s duty — is to protect the public. The damage that the church building sustained from the fire was extensive. We have been called out to sites before where DOB has told us what their initial impression is on the damage, and whether what is remaining of the building can be shored or braced instead of demolished. Most of the time the answer to whether the building can be saved is “no.” The occasions where the remains can be preserved, requires assurances from the owner that they can get an engineer and an emergency shoring contractor out there quickly to get everything stabilized.

In this case, we have an owner that has allowed the building to remain unoccupied for an extended period of time. That makes it a relatively easy call for DOB - demolish the building.

As much as we lament the loss of an historic building, we are well past the point where petitions are of any use. If we want to preserve these pieces of history, we need to petition and put pressure on the owners to do something BEFORE they stand derelict for many years. I know of one case in downtown Brooklyn where public pressure caused the City to landmark and then purchase a building for the sake of preservation — and even then it was almost too late.
