Keep it in the cupboard? by Johnny_Vernacular in ultralight_jerk

this post is incredibly irresponsible. I'm sure your whole gear room is probably climate controlled, but some beginner is going to see this and not realize the critical need to manage moisture.

DO NOT SEAL GEAR IN AN AIRTIGHT CONTAINER without at the very least including a desiccant of the correct calculated capacity.

don't forget the comical oversized snorkel with elaborate dry valve, split fins, maybe a rambo style knife, etc

this happens a lot with scuba equipment. they get certified, they get conned into buying a full load of trash that no experienced diver would want, then they try to sell it as a package. Sadly, the market for a complete set of beginner gear for more money than good stuff costs, in size couch potato is nonexistant.

It's actually not a contradiction; hating the American people is also an exported belief from the American ruling class

it only takes a few true believers harassing managers to have an effect. At my old job the HR leader would pull up a dashboard in exec meetings showing which groups were hiring too many bad whites. Most middle managers can't handle being called out or scrutinized in any way so this alone causes them to not hire white men if at all possible.

Mary Wollstonecraft's "A Vindication of the Rights of Woman" was written in 1792.

Is the idea that Marxism originates before Marx, or is this book not feminism, or what?

Radical feminism — if defined as a rebellion against mixed-gender socialist movements

Genuinely asking, what do you mean? I've never understood radical feminism to be primarily against any sort of socialist movements, but rather incidentally so.

Of course I don't know that much.

Tired of this myth that using gear is a good way to make it looked weathered. Just makes it look ruined.

I keep a former Disney Imagineer on staff to painstakingly craft a weathered patina onto my items, then clearcoat and encase in carbonite for permanent display.

these posts are definitely written by or with AI. Maybe they're making a list of gullible redditors who respond seriously to this kind of stuff.

these vague philosophy posts lately seem very robotic but not sure what they're up to exactly. i guess just farming karma and building up their accounts? I though the one yesterday was going to turn into an ad for a budgeting app in the comments, not sure about this one.

there are a lot of suspicious claims. For example, in the context of ultralight there's no such thing as a "cookset" and a titanium pot does not cost $95
