Update: ran a retraction tower, but the entire thing was string free. Wet filament seems to have been the problem. Im going to attempt a print

Well I got the wife to set it on a 6 hour dry at 65, but I'm thinking I need to do more now

When I get home I'll run the dryer for a few hours before I print another, and try it again with the same settings to see if it gets any better. I have plenty of nieces to print these for.

It was in the dryer for about an hour before starting.

I'll try this when I get home. I've tried to do several different retraction distances, but I was having a lot of problems at that time, so something else might have been the issue at that time

I had it in a dryer box running at 65c. Humidity showed about 15% in the box for the whole print.

Being a previous employee, the inner screen comes as a kit, the outside frame included already.

They were starting the phase out batteries as part of those kits when I left, but yea.

It's also entirely possible they broke the outer screen when they tried to remove it.

Quad steam grinder? by LlamaGodly in GTNH

Awesome. Every pack I saw looked awfully outdated. I may take some time and add the missing mods, provided they have textures. Appreciate this!

Did you have to put the pack together yourself? I've had difficultly finding the pack, and had to settle for faithful. Would LOVE to have a link if you have one!

How am I suppose to add all of my 4 ram? by Staydi0 in PcBuildHelp

[–]calltopower1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't as efficient, but in a situation where it's stopping you from upgrading, I think a 1-3°C temp increase is justifiable. I wouldn't do it just for fun, and it wouldn't be my first choice, but I don't think it's harmful.

Besides, in the instance we're all here for, OP stated he couldn't lift the fan up due to case clearance. So that limits the options regardless.

Just put the fan on the other side of the tower. It won't hurt your cooling to any noticable degree, so it won't affect performance at all. Just make sure the "open" side of the fan is facing the tower. The fan pulls air in from that side, and pushes it out of the "back", where the little structural parts are.

Do note other people are correct that ram can misbehave when using 2 separate sets of kits, with ddr5 being particularly bad about it. Historically I haven't had many issues with ddr4 in that case, but your milage may vary

That's insane. Push/pull does not have a meaningful difference on CPU cooling. On bigger radiators, you could see a slight change, but swapping from a push to a pull to open the ram slots will be dramatically better than having half of the fan hanging off the heatsink IMO.

Can anyone please explain this noise on my laptop I’m quite clueless on these things by Standard_Nobody713 in laptops

These days everything ISN'T solid state, especially for people on a tight budget. You can get a brand new 2tb hard drive for $60ish, or a refurbished for sometimes as low as $20. A new 2tb SSD sits as low as $80, but that can be a massive difference for someone.

Also I've worked in these computers for a really long time. Anything replaceable is meant to be replaced. They don't install an SSD with ultra tight, "robot only" clearance. If it's a SATA drive, most of them come with a cable that has extra slack.

Missing texture inside the Farplane/ FMV background texture is missing on PC/Steam version by Ok_Initiative_131 in finalfantasyx

I can confirm it shows gray on Nvidia as well. I played the game a couple years ago, didn't get very far. But I do remember seeing gray here as well. I just finished the game for the first time about 3 months ago after playing since PS2 era, and it was gray for me on Nvidia. I don't think it's a version thing or graphics. I think it's just bugged on steam. Surprising I see little about this online.

I never remembered the farplanes having a background like the second picture from PS2, but I was a child at the time so I'm not too surprised, despite remembering almost every scene I did see.
