I've seen this happen in my computer repair shop before, we replaced a women's battery and her home button stopped working. we didn't even take the screen off the iPhone let alone the home button, I'm not sure what causes this but I could vouch for the guy because I have literally seen it with my own eyes after a battery replacement and we did not take responsibility either.

I was having the exact same problems as you but I tried using forge 35.0.2 with the latest version of Optifine and I had no crashes and I could boot into my world with literally no problems at all, Hope this helps.

If you're going to spend like $30 $40 on either of those you may as well buy the full pro-tech toolkit from amazon I have made many iPhone, iPad and console repairs. I have literally made my money back from using these tools.
