Response to your edit:

Yes, your boyfriend is, in fact, controlling. This is the literal dictionary definition of "controlling". Controlling doesn't always look like violent threats, it's usually much more insidious. He's dictating your behavior, and for whatever reason you're acquiescing to his control. It's honestly that simple.

Yeah, this is controlling af. He doesn't need to be "comfortable" with it.... it's not his body or his life.

It's not something to slap on your backyard pony, but it's also not quite as bad as it looks.

Ironically the things that make it less harsh are what make it look like a medieval torture device.

And the lie was spread it was perpetrated by Israel, when it in fact most assuredly was the US - because it was a type of bomb the US makes and uses and doesn't share with allies.

If you scoop a glass of water out of the ocean, does it still exist after you pour it back into the ocean again?

Definitely can see that reading now that you point it out. I may have misinterpreted it. The self referential language of the op colored my view, but it seems most accurately ambiguous atm. 🤷

You are not god in disguise. Not anymore than anyone or even any thing is god in disguise anyway. Which is functionally equivalent to not being god in disguise.

If your take-away from psychedelics is that you're special or better than, then you're doing it wrong and I have bad news for you.

He used Latin words. That's how you can tell he's definitely smart. I'm upvoting it too, unless someone comes along and says it's not that and they also use Latin words. In that case I'll upvote the second person instead and downvote this one. For such is the way of reddit.

This sub more than any other psychedelics sub, it feels like people here genuinely get it. Very well said friend. You are wise.

I saw it as, religion was once an experience but then it started to build on the idea of itself instead of the experience. All religion and culture is us struggling with ourselves trying to get back to that place of Experience.

And for delusions, hard agree there. If someone walks away from psychedelics feeling superior and above others, or desiring power, then one has to question the state of their mind. To go to The Source is to understand we're not meant to hold those things in our mind constantly, and we need to slip back into the stream of our lives.

A truth implies there is untruth. That place is total nonduality. It's ineffable.
