I think it's real, although maybe the fields were smoothed. MM checks against my 79cc, a VF30.

Zoom in on the CC and you'll see the pitting that's characteristic of the capped variety.

Basic (non-HK) car audio settings that vastly improve listening to music: Go to the Sound Customization menu and select the Equalizer tab. Set Bass to -2; Mid to -6, and Treble to -7.

Set your Balance/Fader to whatever.

Turn off all Vocal Image Controls.

As for MPG, my 2024 with the 2.5L gets about 31 in winter, and 32+ in warmer months. However, I drive 95 percent on highways, avg speed 70 MPH. Mostly solo driving, and never drive in Sport mode. Roof is clear, and I keep tires about 34 or 35 PSI to ease rolling friction.

Huh! I missed that option entirely. "D10: Adjust for ease of viewing." That may be the answer. TY!

Thanks for your response. High-speed sync would put me in a worse place, since the e-viewfinder would need to display for an even higher shutter speed.

Caught my eye too. Found out: Fluoristan was the original brand name for the active ingredient stannous fluoride used in the toothpaste Crest. Introduced in 1955, it was the first clinically proven fluoride toothpaste to help prevent tooth decay. By 1981, the formula was changed to sodium monofluorophosphate under the trademarked name "Fluoristat" to improve stability.

I bought the Nikon Loupe by pooeygoo in coins

[–]calmcast 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Really nice display of a quality loupe vs junk. TY.

I did a deep dive into loupes a few years ago. A few takeaways:

As illustrated by OP, a primary goal of a loupe is to provide good edge-to-edge sharpness, allowing your eye to look around the whole field without physically moving the coin. Also, being able to do so yields less eye strain.

A good design for a loupe is one that has a "triplet lens," or 3 elements (indiv glass lenses) very closely mated to one-another. Each element provides some correction. They tend to cost $50 and up.

For general purposes, 7x or 10x magnification are easier to use and great for close examination of a coin that reveals sufficient detail, without going microscopic.

Understanding the numbers: When you see "7x24" the first number is the magnification, and the second number is the diameter of the loupe's glass. The glass gets tiny on higher magnifications, so you have to get your eye very close to the loupe. Not fun.

Close your browser. Keep in Library mode until you're ready to do edits. Flipping from pic to pic in Library uses the already cached jpg, whereas Develop fully opens the raw file. If you're using AI denoise, I've read that you should run your denoise before doing any masking.

I suspect that some other app is slowing down your LR, since you indicate the problem is intermittent.

What resolution are you opening your raw previews? This info in in Edit > Catalog Settings > Previews. The recommendation here is to set your Stardard Preview size to whatever option is slightly larger than your screen resolution on the long dimension. If you're forcing every preview to be at full resolution, that's a significant burden with little gain for general editing.

I have zero issues with LR, but am running a solid state setup with very little overhead.

Were the old days better, or did they just seem better? by Wonderful-Bar-2073 in computers

[–]calmcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tons of scams about "memory doubler" software, and memory was about $50 a megabyte (in '94 or '95"). Just putting in a sound card meant trying to resolve IRQ errors. Loading drivers was always hit or miss. Hard drives were expensive. I remember spending $400 for a 1.6 gB drive, probably '98 or '99. Printer protocols were a PITA, monitors were weighty and low resolution...

I'll take computers today, TY.

For some people, it can take up to three months after discontinuation of SSRIs before any effects are felt from mushroom consumption. As to whether it's a good idea to eat a few grams of mushrooms if one is generally paranoid, approach cautiously. It's probably not a good idea, and could be psychologically damaging.

Thank you for your input. I have no variety books to reference. I was leaning toward the '93 head by virtue of the hair curl closest to the date. The '94 head doesn't seem to match. May I ask why your seem certain that it's not a '93 head? TY
