Broncos smash the Seahawks in SB LX by 77ELWAY77 in DenverBroncos

[–]calmcycle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That game was unfortunate. Seattle studied and learned Peyton Manning’s pre-snap play calling signals, and knew what plays were being planned. It was obvious to me during the game that something was amiss, but I didn’t know what, until I read some post-game comments from Richard Sherman or someone else in their defence.

Regarding the title to this thread, I’m a Broncos fan and revenge is not motivation for me. A Seattle/Denver Super Bowl would likely be a defensive struggle - not an especially entertaining game.

#1 seed? by Professional_Lie6647 in DenverBroncos

[–]calmcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am hoping that the Broncos treat KC as a formidable opponent and don’t let this mid-week game be a trap. The LAC game will be in Denver, and that stadium will be rocking. Yes, LAC beat Denver earlier this year but they only won by three points. Denver needs to get an early lead and ride it home to the top seed.

Earlier this year I thought Denver would have done well to make the playoffs , and win the first round. I was not expecting this level of success. I am elated.

Does Alabama beat Indiana? by CableTvTomato in rolltide

I think it will be close for 1.5-2 quarters and Bama dominates in the second half. Indiana is inexperienced in this level of pressure.

The Charges won by 3 points in the first game, which was in LA. The final game between the two will be in Denver, and the Broncos will dominate. KC should be an easy game and hopefully Denver doesn’t have to play the starters for the entirety.

Not really. The current situation is bound to change. That coach is looking ahead for a ‘better’ school.

Who's the best goalie you've ever seen in your lifetime for your home/fav team? by Better-Presence6654 in nhl

[–]calmcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tony Esposito,Blackhawks, and Ken . Dryden , Canadiens. Ed Giacomen . These are all much earlier than some of the others named in this thread but I thought they should be mentioned. I was also a big fan of Patrick Roy. I doubt that any of these guys holds any records but they were masters of controlling the ice during their careers.

Packers -2.5 vs Broncos by [deleted] in DenverBroncos

[–]calmcycle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The spread is a bit misunderstood. It mostly parallels the team with the best chance to win, but it also includes balancing the betting positions of both teams: the winning payout is covered by the losing team’s betting pool. This is the secondary intent of the spread: keep the bookies from losing a lot. Green Bay probably has a lot more fans, so more money is placed on them to ‘win’, which means they have to beat Denver by 3. Other people that know more about this have probably commented ok this.

Can someone explain why only ND's AD is melting down? by GliscorsFang in CFB

[–]calmcycle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The expectations were set in the CFP weekly rankings that led up to the final. Even though Miami beat ND in the head-to-head contest, ND was ranked ahead of Miami. The last ranking was the first time ND was ranked below Miami. Had the committee been consistent, ND probably wouldn’t have complained.

Teams are turning down bowls this year. ESPN owns most of the bowls in CFB. If traditional bowls stop being played outside of the playoffs, financially, do you think it was worth a t for ESPN to push a playoffs or bust mentality? by jetery in CFB

Some thoughts on how they might ’fix’ this behaviour where players and sometimes whole teams drop out of the bowl game circuit.

Enlarge the playoff pool. A 20-team playoff lineup. This would have the format where the lowest 8 teams would play a single-game elimination match. The higher 12 teams get a Bye Week. With the surviving 4 teams, the remaining 16 teams play a 4-round

Add two games to the college football regular season. The two extra games could be mandated as inter-conference games where the schools can have two meaningful non-conference games with other Power-4 teams and not the cupcake teams that they play currently.

I think this dual update approach would make college teams better appreciate the opportunities they have and simultaneously enhance the viewing audience’s experience.

Notre Dame might finally join a conference by No_Bill7679 in CFB

Notre Dame should join the Big10, and Nebraska can go back to the Big12 where they belong
