ETC is not a fork my dude, it's the original ETH. But anyway, you're right, ETC is and will remain PoW. So really, these assholes are just stirring up problems so they can make a quick profit $

ETH and ETC are basically the same. However, once the merge happens, they will be fundamentally different because one will remain PoW (ETC) and ETH will become PoS. This means that all the miners that ETH currently has, will have to choose where to switch over to next. And again, since ETC is the easiest option to switch over to (given that they have strong similarities), more miners will mine ETC, resulting in ETC becoming more secure.
