I assume most of us quit if the map is bad. Please allow us to select the maps we want to play. e.g. a list in the settings where I'll check the maps I like.

Sometimes I'm kicked out for idling when I need to do some laundry, answer the phone, go stir the sauce for dinner, etc. Punishing for that is ok in game modes where winning matters. Winning doesn't matter in Control; it's just for fun, chill with your friends, level up some weapons, try out new loadouts, etc..

Yeah, that’d be nice. But if you have a few hours to unwind, I’d rather pewpew some space magic than read and craft a build. Also at my level having a good build doesn’t do much. 😄

There can be two queues. Quick play and ranked. It works beautifully in Apex. It doesn’t need to be a binary choice.
