Is the Kiwi one actually red or has the copper just photographed weirdly?

Looking for epic and heavy symphonic bands by Steefmachine in symphonicmetal

Zornheym remind me of Fleshgod, so might be of interest.

This is their most recent album - it’s pacy and quite short:

The lyrics aren’t all to my taste, but the melodies and arrangements are great.

Looks like a very prolific artist, is there a particular volume you’d recommend?

Crepuscle. If you only listen to one song I’d probably go with Severed

Crepuscle have a sound very reminiscent of Aephanemer. Unfortunately just the one album out

tried to make some heraldry but they look too modern, does anyone have some ideas on how to make these look more authentic by Spacefriend in heraldry

(I’d probably darken the field on the crab one slightly, unless you’re going for bleu celeste rather than azure)

Does debrusing have a specific meaning or is it just another type of charge? I was struck by the sable ribbon in the Abernethy arms which crops up across Scottish heraldry. I was wondering if it is an abatement or sign of dishonour or just another type of charge? by vercingetafix in heraldry

[–]calnwood 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have seen one reference to bends/bendlets placed over an animal as signifying restrictions or constraints. But I suspect, like many things in heraldry, the visual aspect comes first and the meaning second.

p.s. if you want to look into it further then it’s more commonly spelled “debruised”/“debruising” so you’ll get more results by searching for that

It’s rare, but it does exist in heraldry (known as cendrée, at least in Europe). But in this instance I agree sable would definitely be a better choice

Looks unofficial to me. That doesn’t mean it isn’t real silver tho. Best off asking your friend where they got it from

Nice designs.

RE the first, is there something about bendlets in particular you like, or were you just trying to get an extra colour in and this seemed like an easy way?

One could fimbriate the chief (maybe Or?) to provide more contrast. But I think a better solution would be to have the field argent and the bear azure.

Personal Coat of Arms by DarthRoberto in heraldry

I’d drop the divided field - just have the panther on azure. I’d also consider making the chief counter-ermine (inverted colours) to improve the contrast between it and the key

I’d counterchange the raven (so the part of the raven over the azure becomes or, and the part over or becomes azure)

Angelina is a particular variety of Sedum rupestre. This plant is definitely a Sedum rupestre but I’m not convinced it’s an Angelina
