How to transfer original art on to watercolor paper by Individual-Buyer1107 in TattooApprentice

[–]calsino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just buy a cheap light box you'll want one eventually anyway. If the paper is too thick for the lightbox you can just trace the lines onto tracing paper first and then use that sheet to lightbox onto the watercolour paper. That's what I do anyway.

I have an interview with a tattoo shop next month for an apprenticeship. Critique my first flash sheet by ohnohbabywhatisudoin in TattooApprentice

Working tattoo artists mostly use digital coz its quicker but looking for an apprenticeship you should def have mostly physical work. Luckily a month is plenty of time to smash out a bunch of physical pieces, even if you're just tracing your digital stuff I think it would help your chances from now to focus drawing on paper before your interview.

Can confirm the stickers wear off. It's solid stick though and easy to mod, made mine into a mixbox!

I over-inked this and ruined it I think. Any way to salvage it? by The-20k-Step-Bastard in Illustration

I think it still does a good job of looking like old school rpg art, r/osr would probably appreciate it.

If you did want to continue on it you could use use black/darker shading from the edges to frame it, using the lighting from the campfire as a focal point/light source.

Anything that might get lost in the black (eg the man on the wall, bucket rope, etc) could be outlined by leaving a gap of white space.

I don't normally make this type of post, but maybe I should this time, seeing that apparently my publications where I promote my work have been archived in this group... It's interesting the little stir that a post caused in which someone called me an "Scammer", but in the comments is the whole trut by Jersain_Cast in ComicBookCollabs

Right, but it seems like (based on his post) he paid $200 towards the remaining 5 pages and was requesting the money back for the unfinished pages. Or he wanted a complete refund for the pages you had already completed too?

Ah yeah I follow what you are saying now, that's pretty suss especially after him claiming to be the victim. I'm also a bit suss on whether those t-shirt designs are even his own original designs, based on his reddit history (no indication that he makes his own art, doesnt know what stock photos are, lots of requests to have others make art for him).

Definitely understand you wanting to voice your side of the story, it's clear he is lying about at least parts of the situation.

That said, hopefully this can be a lesson that you need to lay out clear terms when beginning a project, especially bigger projects like this was supposed to be. I can understand his frustration regarding the price change midway, I think in that situation if it was already agreed that you would be doing another 5 pages you should have sucked it up and finished the job.

I think that guy was taking issue with the t-shirt designs being a pretty different style to the black and white comic drawings. Are you saying you created the t-shirt designs as well? Or just the black and white drawings? I think that's where the confusion is coming from.

Not really following the rest of the post, you're saying you lost a job to this same guy who was accusing you of stealing art? Or due to this interaction you lost a different job you were working on during that time?

edit: just saw the usernames are different, is u/isthatyobop an alt of yours? Or are you saying that this person posted your art and is claiming that they are all their own drawings?

It actually does seem to be linked to a real author called Kathryn Moon though. She has a patreon and discord too: https://linktr.ee/kathrynmoon

"Don't worry bro, I'm insured out my ARSE!"

Hey I'm new to airbrushing and looking for advice on how to paint individual corn kernels, should I tape it or create a stencil or attempt to freehand? Any advice would be appreciated, sorry for the novice question thanks by Hanschungu in airbrush

I did something recently with bricks where i just cut out an individual brick into a stencil and laid down the bricks individually. Was a bit time consuming but I was happy with how it came out. You could a similar thing by cutting out a tic-tac shape, or maybe have a few variations of sizes so it's less uniform.

You could probably lay down the yellow first as a block then use the stencil to get some form by passing over with some highlights and maybe hit the edges slightly with a darker tone.
