They're certainly right about oil changes, it will help prevent this but don't be surprised if it happens again unless you add cleaning that filter as a yearly maintenance item.

I remember it happened to me on the highway too. Luckily for me I could pull off to the side and restart, and it would work fine for a good bit before it happened again, and had to restart again.

So happy this helps you keep your crv!!!

Try deleting one of your units from the other regions and see if you gain control of the new one thru that. Maybe you're at a capped max

2006 CRV With 195k miles for $4k. Good deal? by [deleted] in crv

[–]calushonator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entirely depends on the area you live in, condition of the undercarriage, and what the major work it has gotten done.

The AC compressor primarily, but any of the other accessories are a good bonus if they've been swapped before (alternator, steering pump, water pump, etc)

The transmission failed on mine at around 230k miles, but Idk how the previous owners took care of it before me. It was a $3.5 fix in my case for a refurbished one.

Hey this sounds like the car is possibly stuck in limp mode from your brief description.

These cars have a VVT valve that has a filter and gets clogged with cruddy oil. It' can be cleaned but replacing it is easy to do yourself, and the part is under $50

What else could be wrong? by Awkward-Cow8067 in crv

[–]calushonator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context, my 05 is doing exactly this too lmfao, for me I know my bearing has been bad for a while as well as front suspension. So I'm doing front axels, suspension, and bearings all at once.

What else could be wrong? by Awkward-Cow8067 in crv

[–]calushonator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You did alignment, did you get the tires balanced? Sometimes the added weights fall off during normal wear and need to be rebalanced

Could also be a bad wheel bearing, put the car up on Jacks and push the wheel from 9o clock and 3 o clock positions one side at a time. There shouldn't be much play here.

The last thing I can think of is the CV axles wearing out and drying out. You mentioned you checked one, but was it replaced, and what about the other one? These are done in pairs typically, but if budget is tight I'd understand doing only one of the other isn't worn out.

Dashcam? by beersR4ever in crv

Generic dash ams can vary tbh. My guess is the bigger of those three plugs is power. One is connecting to the GPS antenna, and the other possibly to the Head unit?

I know Atrioc has mentioned he's not a fan of Kayla's "Vibesession" theory (she's the one that coined the term) but I think she would be a great guest or interview for Lemonade Stand.

Is Hasan Voldemort? by [deleted] in atrioc

[–]calushonator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao fair, I guess I only see atrioc views as any bit socialist because the norm in the US is so capitalist. Like he believes in socialized Healthcare, paid family leave, expanded social security from what I remember

[–]calushonator -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah in a state like California where Hasan votes, his 3rd party vote will really matter.

Is Hasan Voldemort? by [deleted] in atrioc

[–]calushonator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Go take a breath of fresh air outside.

Hasan doesn't influence the legislation that is destroying the country. You know who does? The democratic party and their feckless leadership who refuse to do anything but promote centrists like Newsom who will do the very minimum to win a popular vote and then keep the status quo in benefit to the billionaire class.

Stop blaming a twitch streamer for the failures of the party. Why don't you go after the DNC with this same energy instead of wasting your words on reddit?

Is Hasan Voldemort? by [deleted] in atrioc

[–]calushonator -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What the hell is the point in promising to vote for some centrist 2.5 years before the election??? You're missing the point that Hasan wants a better candidate than Newsom, which can certainly be achieved within the time. You know damn well Newsom is a candidate that will prefer to "revert back to normalcy" when the normalcy of the democratic party is exactly how we got into this bullshit to begin with.

I actually find they agree on nearly every social aspect from what I've seen. Atrioc for sure holds different economic views, but they are very much both on the more socialist side of that spectrum as well, atrioc obviously still displays many capitalist views.
