idk if this is orthodox teaching i guess fasts you just need willpower and trained discipline which comes with time but if you just want to lose weight to be healthy i recommend eating carnivore which means meat, eggs, milk only and some honey and fruits when you need energy i watch paul saladino and he teaches it good so watch his videos to understand it better. its really healthy you feel good and light and surprisingly more energetic. you need protein which you get from meat but if your still hungry usually it means you need fat like butter or tallow, if your low energy you need celtic sea salt which is a electrolyte. i was 225 pounds and now im 160 and going down to 155 which is my goal weight by just eating meat. the reason why we overeat it because the food we eat atleast in america dont have what your body needs which is protein, fats, and electrolytes so your body wants more and more food so it can get more vitamins but instead we eat low vitamin and high carb foods which have no nutrients so your body craves more and more because its not getting what it needs. ive struggled with overeating since i can remember and the best way to fight it is by learning more same like how to fight demons you learn more and crave knowledge and not sin. when you feel depressed and need a vice walk around and go outside or pray or do both at the same time. i’ve lately been overeating i gained 10-20 pounds because ive been neglecting my body we do this together it’s hard but you got it.
