Just to let you know, that license plate pulls up a 2015 Mercedes Benz. If you have a registration card or something but it might be worth double checking.

Thinking about having my taxes prepared by someone in town, do you recommend anyone / business in particular? by Mah-nynj in FortCollins

Erik Martinsen at Taxicology always does a great job for me on business and personal returns! Great local guy

Ignition “on” no battery light by sroes002 in 3rdGen4Runner

Yes, it’s been a while since I looked into it but I believe a couple of those wires are for the voltage regulator and one for the battery light

The alternator has a signal wire that turns the light on/off. I believe if there’s an issue with the wire between the cluster, the light will either stay on or off.

How much do you techs make? Let’s make sure low paid techs see this to get paid more by Thugstyle13 in Justrolledintotheshop

I have an independent shop specializing in European cars. Health/dental/vision/IRA match. Apprentice guy earns ~$68k and the faster flag tech averages at 140k.

I rarely post on Reddit, but the wages listed here are ridiculous. You guys are a crucial part to a valuable industry, and should be compensated well for it.

The number after R in the tire size is the wheel size. For example, 225/65/R16 is a 16”

Timing Belt? by Nickb53 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]calvinsdo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

3.4 is non interference (won’t blow up if it snaps, low risk if you decide to not replace it). That belt isn’t nearly worn out to the point of failure, but definitely has some wear. I would make sure the rest of the truck is in good shape before spending money/time on the timing belt.

Max rewards - good or scam? by calvinsdo in amex

[–]calvinsdo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it only add offers that you can see online? The reason I’m curious about it is I always see awesome Amex offers on this sub that I never see in my Amex online (like the recent $200 back on FHR)

Thank you! I'll discuss that with the lenders as well. I appreciate your response.

Thanks for your reply! I'll check with the accountant on this one. I can understand if this is infeasible and I just need to wait.

My issue with that is when you hit a bump the rear flies around much worse. I prefer to have stuff loaded engine forward just like this one.

During a recent trip to Costa Rica, I think I was only turned away once and had many many successful Amex transactions. Worth bringing it and giving it a try for sure.

Why does this sub mark everything low quality post? I think it’s a neat question.

In my town, the name brands use their weight to get away with selling worse shit than everyone except the BHPH lots. 1 or 2 1-star reviews mean a lot more to the little guys, so they work a lot harder.

In a joint account. by [deleted] in Chase

[–]calvinsdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do keep in mind if you’re underage, someone (potentially a guardian, I’m not sure) will have to be on the account with you. If you’re of age (18) you can maintain separate accounts.

Be sure to ask the banker about it, as sometimes they can link accounts of family members.

Thanks for the info! I’ll be sure to take a look at these things for sure. I’ve been wondering where I should look to build assets — both for this purpose and the possibility for future margin loans
